Role Overview
VITA’s Project Management Center of Excellence (PM COE) is seeking a High-Risk Project Manager to manage a strategic portfolio of highly visible, high-risk Commonwealth projects. The role focuses on risk mitigation, portfolio oversight, project execution, and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple high-risk IT projects from initiation through close-out, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Lead planning, scheduling, tracking, and documentation of large-scale projects (> $10M).
Provide program assurance and advisory tasks for the Strategic Portfolio.
Support development of PM COE mission charter, risk management framework, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Develop high-risk project training materials and conduct mentoring sessions.
Identify, assess, and manage risks while implementing mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, state and local government agencies, and third-party suppliers to ensure alignment with objectives.
