 What you will do: 

The Staff Technical Project Manager [“STPM”] will lead and drive the successful execution of complex technical projects Doing so begins with interacting with internal and external collaborators to assemble accurate timelines and resourcing expectations. The STPM will then monitor project status relative to those expectations, continuously probing for opportunities for acceleration and for potential risks.  There will be multiple projects in progress requiring attention at any given time.  

 Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements. 
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, tracking progress and mitigating risks proactively. 
  • Facilitate communication and coordination across teams, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle 
  • Lead discussions of current and upcoming work, then synthesize information into timelines of activities. Timelines should include rigorous logic in the form of fully flushed out inter-task dependency chains. 
  • Monitor multiple simultaneous projects for resourcing conflicts and propose solutions as appropriate. 
  • Developing relationships with project engineers and adjusting exact project management techniques to best suit individual needs. 
  • Take on project content activities directly where possible, including managing vendor relationships and providing hands-on help to select activities. 
  • Communicating project status information through in-person meetings as well as digital reports. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


What we need you to bring to the team (Required):  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field 
  • 12+ years of industry experience working in Project Management, Program Management or a related technical field required (excludes internships, co-ops, and other school projects).   Or 8+ years of industry experience working in Project Management, Program Management a related technical field with a master’s degree.  Or 5+ years of industry experience working within Project Management, Program Management or related technical field with a Ph.D. 
  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, including critical path analysis 
  • Experience with rapidly and critically analyzing projects, developing risk matrices and risk mitigations. 
  • Leads and contributes to development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals in a creative and effective way 
  • Strong ability to convey advanced information and persuade several diverse stakeholders and audiences 
  • Majority of work is spent on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles  
  • Requires conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications 
  • Exercises independent judgement in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results 
  • Results may impact the entire function 
  • Knowledge of engineering design, concepts, principles, practices, and procedures 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Asana, and other relatable project management tools.  

What we want you to bring to the team (Preferred):  

  • PMP certified 
  • Competency in Python programming, allowing the Project Manager to build on our existing suite of tools. 
  • Previous experience in a start-up environment 

Compensation:  

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $135,000-$175,00 annually, but it may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education.
