SUMMARY: Confluent Medical Technologies is dedicated to working collaboratively with our customers, taking their projects from rapid prototype into high volume production. 

 

Under the general supervision of either a portfolio manager or a program manager, this position oversees multiple projects or one larger project. The project manager II is responsible for assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing the schedule to ensure the completion of the project timely. 

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Project Manager Staff is responsible for mentoring & coaching a project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing the schedule to ensure timely completion of the project. 

  • Project Manager Staff generates and utilizes appropriate tools to plan project timelines, tasks, milestones, and deadlines. 

  • Communicate schedule and changes to all stakeholders. 

  • Project Manager Staff plans and facilitates project meetings to align the project team to methods, goals and track project tasks. Prepares agendas, meeting notes, and project summaries. 

  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and techniques typically used in a medical device environment.  

  • Monitors task completion status to identify at risk project tasks and to develop mitigation plans. Allocates resources, budgets, and hours to the project and adjusts allocations when necessary.  

  • Facilitate and coordinate and support manufacturing implementation and transfer to receiving facility. 

  • Report on project success with key performance indicators. 

  • Project Manager Staff will lead training across the team members and generate new training courses according to business needs. 

  • Capable of performing under the pressure of multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and constructive working relationship with colleagues is essential. 

 

 

BUSINESS SKILLS & APTITUDES 

  • Ability to lead teams through a systematic stage gate product development process. 

  • Experience with financial tools including P&L, NPV, EBITDA, GM, and Cost Modeling. 

  • Ability to effectively engage technical Subject Matter Experts to influence outcomes & achieve project objectives. 

  • Strong ability to manage project budgets. 

 

 

MEDICAL DEVICE EXPERIENCE 

  • Desired well known experience on FDA & ISO regulations, quality systems, design controls and process validation. 

  • Proficient with statistical concepts and techniques typically used in a medical device environment including sampling plans, TMV’s process capability, and reliability and confidence intervals. 

  • Fluency with statistical concepts and techniques typically used in a medical device environment including sampling plans, TMV’s process capability, and reliability and confidence intervals. 

 

TECHNICAL ABILITIES / CUSTOMER-FACING SKILLS 

  • Proficient in verbal & written communication skills. 

  • Skilled at customer negotiation and ensuring common understanding of requirements & expectations. 

  • Ability to multi-task between projects as directed by Program Manager and VP. Capable of performing under the pressure of multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and constructive working relationship with colleagues is essential 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Have supervisory responsibilities: No   

Leadership: N/A 

Supervises: N/A 

Supervision: Direction: receive guidance with respect to general objectives; in most tasks and projects assigned, determine methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments; operate within specific policy guidelines. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, material science, biomedical engineering, production engineering, scientific discipline or business administration (desired). 

  • Master’s degree in engineering, project management or related field is desired. 

  • Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience or supporting functional areas within the medical industry of which 4 years managing/supporting projects (end to end).  

  • PMP Certification or Professional Project Management Certificate is desired. 

  • Proficient English communication skills, written and oral. 

  

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must possess more than a basic understanding of engineering and project management theoretical fundamentals. Individuals at this level should be developing skills related to problem solving methodology, group leadership and difficult coordination requirements. 

 

MANUAL DEXTERITY: Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. 

 

VISION REQUIREMENTS: No special vision requirements. 

 

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS: Monday – Friday. 

 

TRAVEL: Minimal overnight travel. 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Other physical working conditions:       

Lifting or carrying items. 

Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). 

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL:  

Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
