The Role
Description

Responsible for managing and coordinating all on-site activities related to the MW rollout project. This includes overseeing installation, commissioning, subcontractor management, safety compliance, quality control, and ensuring delivery aligns with project timelines and contractual obligations.The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder coordination, and hands-on technical oversight to ensure successful project execution in line with customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Coordination

  • Lead and manage day-to-day field activities for MW installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinate site access, mobilization, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure work is executed as per approved design, scope, and project schedule.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular status updates to the Project Manager.

2. Contractor & Vendor Management

  • Supervise subcontractors and installation teams.
  • Ensure adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Validate completion of milestones before sign-off.

3. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict compliance with WHS requirements and Transgrid safety standards.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Verify site documentation, SWMS, and permits are in place before work commences.
  • Maintain zero-harm culture on all sites.

4. Technical Oversight

  • Oversee microwave link installation, alignment, integration, and testing.
  • Support NMS integration and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and coordinate escalation with engineering teams.
  • Ensure as-built documentation is accurate and submitted on time.

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary on-site interface with Transgrid representatives.
  • Support customer inspections and acceptance testing.
  • Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
  • Track site issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure proper handover documentation and site completion packs.


Requirements

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in telecom or utility network rollout projects.
  • Proven experience in microwave (MW) installation and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of transmission network infrastructure.
  • Experience working on utility or critical infrastructure projects (preferably Transgrid or similar).
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing field teams across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of Australian WHS standards and site compliance requirements.
  • Ability to travel to regional NSW locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or diploma (Telecommunications / Electrical / Electronics).
  • First Aid, Working at Heights, and EWP certifications.
  • Experience with Ceragon or similar MW equipment.
  • Strong stakeholder and client-facing experience
  • NSW drivers’ licence
