The Role

Job Title: Project Manager- Molecular Diagnostics/IVD Development (First IVD Product Launch)

Location: On-Site (potential for Hybrid)

Company: Biomeme, Inc.

Join Biomeme — Build What Matters

At Biomeme, we are redefining what’s possible in molecular diagnostics. We develop rapid, mobile molecular testing platforms designed for near-patient and field-based environments — where speed, portability, and reliability matter most.

Our work spans host response diagnostics and biowarfare agent detection, supporting public health, national security, and mission-critical operations. We partner with organizations including the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), alongside private investors, to deliver transformative diagnostic solutions.

Now is a pivotal moment: Biomeme is developing its first regulated in vitro diagnostic (IVD) product. This milestone program will define the company’s next chapter — and we are looking for a driven Project Manager who wants to help lead that charge.

This is an exciting moment to join and play a key leadership role in bringing a novel diagnostic from development through commercialization.

Location & Work Structure

This position must be onsite initially. The role requires close, hands-on coordination with laboratory scientists, engineers, and on-site team members to strengthen execution and team alignment.

As operational systems mature and team rhythms stabilize, a hybrid structure may be considered.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-impact Project Manager who thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments and wants to take ownership of complex, high-visibility development programs.

This is a hands-on role for someone ready to:

  • Step into an active laboratory and product development environment.
  • Improve organization and accountability.
  • Drive clarity in priorities and deliverables.
  • Help elevate how the team plans and executes.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans for R&D and product development programs.
  • Own timelines, track milestones, and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Actively push projects forward while maintaining high technical standards.

Lead & Coordinate Onsite Teams

  • Work closely with laboratory scientists, engineers, regulatory, quality, and operations staff.
  • Improve structure and accountability within on-site workflows.
  • Encourage direct, productive technical discussions.
  • Address roadblocks quickly and escalate when necessary.

Manage Budgets & Resources

  • Assist in estimating budgets for early feasibility through late-stage validation.
  • Track expenditures and resource allocation.
  • Support financial planning and reporting for government-funded and investor-supported programs.

Support Government-Funded Work

  • Help execute projects funded by partners including the DoD.
  • Translate complex technical updates into clear, concise presentations for executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure contractual milestones, documentation, and reporting are completed on time.

Strengthen Operational Discipline

  • Optimize use of project management tools such as:
    • Microsoft Project
    • Jira
  • Use AI-enabled tools to streamline project tracking, summarize technical information, and improve operational efficiency across cross-functional teams.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI-assisted workflows to enhance program visibility, meeting preparation, and project documentation.
  • Help reset expectations where needed and elevate team performance.

Who You Are

You are energized by ownership, structure, and execution. You are comfortable working onsite, engaging directly with technical teams, and bringing clarity to fast-moving programs.

You:

  • See the big picture while managing detailed execution.
  • Address issues directly and constructively.
  • Motivate teams without micromanaging.
  • Push for deadlines while improving quality.

  • 3+ years of project management experience in biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices, or related industry.
  • Prior industry experience required.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex R&D projects.
  • Experience managing personnel or directly coordinating lab-based teams.
  • Experience with budget estimation and cost tracking.

  • Experience in molecular diagnostics or amplification-based technologies.
  • Experience in regulated product development (FDA, CLIA).
  • Experience supporting government-funded programs (e.g., DoD).

Why Join Biomeme?
