As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day project delivery, coordinating teams, and working closely with client stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and with measurable impact. This role offers strong exposure to operational environments and the opportunity to build leadership capability within complex, asset‑intensive settings.

At dss+, we partner with Metals & Mining organisations to improve safety, reduce environmental impact, strengthen governance, and enhance operational performance. This role provides hands‑on exposure to operational sites and leadership teams across the sector.

Your impact at dss+

You will manage the delivery of consulting projects, ensuring effective coordination of teams, high‑quality outputs, and strong collaboration with client stakeholders. You will play an important role in translating analysis and recommendations into practical, implementable actions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day‑to‑day delivery of consulting projects within Metals & Mining engagements

  • Coordinating project plans, timelines, resources, and deliverables

  • Supporting client stakeholders through regular communication, reporting, and issue resolution

  • Overseeing defined workstreams related to operational risk, safety, or performance improvement

  • Conducting site visits, workshops, interviews, and operational assessments

  • Supporting development of presentations, reports, and implementation plans

  • Ensuring delivery quality, consistency, and alignment with dss+ methodologies

  • Supporting the development of junior consultants through guidance and coaching

Who you are

You bring strong organisational skills, a structured mindset, and the ability to work effectively with teams and clients in operational environments. You are comfortable managing priorities, solving problems, and supporting delivery in fast‑paced settings.

Experience

  • Experience in consulting, project management, or operational roles within asset‑intensive industries

  • Exposure to Metals & Mining, heavy industry, or large‑scale operational environments preferred

  • Experience supporting or managing project delivery and workstreams

  • Familiarity with operational risk, safety, or performance improvement initiatives

Capabilities

  • Strong project coordination and organisational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

  • Clear, confident communication with team members and client stakeholders

  • Practical, solutions‑oriented mindset and attention to detail

Education and languages

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is a plus

  • Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial

Mobility

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Skills Required

  • Experience working in a management consulting firm and/or hands-on experience in the Metals and Mining industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry solutions and best practices in operational risk, operational excellence, and sustainability
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in managing, leading, and developing a team
  • Intermediate to expert skills in MS Office, MS Project, PowerBI, Tableau, and Visio
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related fields
  • More than 4 years of professional management consulting experience
