Project Manager / Senior Project Manager

Hybrid role in Yardley PA - 2 roles available at 2 different levels.

Help Life Sciences Teams Learn, Launch, and Succeed

Red Nucleus creates learning and engagement programs for the world’s leading pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies. As a Project Manager, you’ll lead the teams behind those programs: e-learning, workshops, mobile apps, video, games, and blended launch curricula. You’ll be the client’s trusted point of contact and the person who keeps talented writers, designers, artists, and developers moving in the same direction, on time and on budget.

We’re hiring at two levels, Project Manager and Senior Project Manager, and will place you based on your experience. The Senior level takes on larger, more complex, and higher-visibility work, and a bigger role in strategy, client relationships, and mentoring.

This role suits someone who enjoys variety, owns outcomes, and wants a real voice in both delivery and growth. You’ll work closely with your Client Service Director and Account Managers, and you’ll have a structured learning plan to help your responsibilities expand as your skills do.

Responsibilities:

Lead projects from kickoff to close

  • Serve as the primary client contact. You’ll lead kickoff and status meetings, document decisions and action items, and understand client needs well enough to anticipate them.
  • Manage and independently deliver multicomponent solutions, custom new hire curriculums, and blended launch curricula.
  • Build and maintain project timelines, communicate key milestones and the impact of delays, and flag scope creep early with practical solutions.
  • Manage the Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review process, including tracking submissions, reviewing comments, joining client MLR calls, and coordinating changes with the team.
  • Review outlines, instructional design plans, scripts, and beta versions to make sure work meets scope and client direction.
  • Close out each project with a breakdown covering budgeted versus actual scope, costs, and lessons learned, and lead post-project reviews.

Lead and motivate the team

  • Request, schedule, and prioritize resources across Associate Project Managers, Medical Writers, Instructional Designers, Artists, Developers, Editors, and freelancers.
  • Give timely, constructive feedback on teamwork, share client feedback, and drive a plan of action.
  • Engage and manage freelancers, from selection and rate negotiation to invoice approval.
  • Support onboarding of new team members and freelancers.

Own the financials

  • Develop scope and pricing for SOWs and change orders and identify opportunities to expand revenue on sold projects.
  • Track hours, budgets, and revenue recognition, and forecast weekly.
  • Submit invoice requests and provide budget updates to clients.
  • Understand the terms of client master service agreements, such as rate cards and discounts, and apply them correctly.

Help win new business

  • Partner with Account Managers on proposals, timelines, brainstorming sessions, and pitch presentations.
  • Develop scope and pricing for standard solutions, with support for custom ones.

Strengthen how we work

  • Model and help evolve Red Nucleus processes.
  • Occasionally manage internal projects, such as training resources and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide on-site logistics support at client workshops and events.

Portfolio size

  • Project Manager: roughly $750K to $1.2M in annual revenue
  • Senior Project Manager: roughly $1.2M to $1.5M+ in annual revenue

Senior Project Managers Additional responsibilities:

Senior Project Managers do everything above, plus:

Drive larger, more complex work

  • Independently manage any core offering from concept to completion, including launch workshops, video, and virtual preceptorships.
  • Lead large-scale (~$275K+) multicomponent solutions on clinical and non-clinical topics.
  • Deliver complex custom technical solutions and high-visibility, high-risk projects.
  • Lead needs analysis and consulting engagements, driving and facilitating the strategy and process.
  • Take on internal innovation projects, such as developing a new game or offering.
  • Research and define approaches for complex custom projects and new project types, then translate them into clear plans and timelines.

Shape client relationships and strategy

  • Join client ideation and strategy sessions, such as curriculum planning.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, especially for clients with limited training experience.
  • Build client relationships that last beyond a single project.

Grow the business

  • Identify and forecast new opportunities with existing clients.
  • Partner with Account Managers to develop proposals and pitches end-to-end, covering solutions, budgets, timelines, and resourcing, and present project management content at pitches.

Lead and develop people

  • Mentor Project Managers and other team members.
  • Help the Client Service Director shape resource allocation strategy.
  • Suggest process improvements that raise efficiency and quality.
  • Take part in interviewing and evaluating candidates.

Set the financial standard

  • Consistently deliver on or under budget, with accurate revenue forecasting, timely invoicing, and prompt vendor invoice processing.
  • Coach team members on financial expectations, including accurate time tracking and weekly timesheet submission.

Requirements:

Required for both levels

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience managing and designing blended learning solutions.
  • Experience in, or serving clients in, a highly regulated industry such as pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotech.
  • A track record of delivering projects within budget and scope while managing client expectations.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, revenue recognition, and invoicing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project planning software (such as Microsoft Project), Adobe Acrobat, virtual meeting platforms, and file-sharing tools.
  • Familiarity with client submission systems such as Veeva Vault.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail, plus the ability to lead a team of diverse personalities and skill sets.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for client meetings, events, and pitches, and to occasionally work evenings or weekends to meet deadlines.

Project Manager

  • 2+ years of project management experience in a digital agency or professional services environment.
  • A working understanding of what goes into blended learning products: instructional content, graphic design, programming, media, editing, and QA.

Senior Project Manager

  • 5+ years of project management experience in a digital agency or professional services environment (experience as a project manager at a comparable agency preferred).
  • Demonstrated success managing sales training projects within budget and scope.
  • A deep understanding of how blended learning products are built, from instructional content and design to programming, media, editing, and QA.
  • Experience mentoring or leading other project managers or team members.

Nice to have (both levels)

  • Business-focused educational background.
  • Sales training or experience supporting business development.
