Role and Responsibilities
The Project Manager, Information Security is a delivery-focused role responsible for planning and driving technical security projects across IQVIA’s global Information Security organization. IQVIA is investing in new security platforms and capabilities to protect a global workforce, a large software development community, and a growing portfolio of acquired businesses. Delivering those investments on time, and with real adoption, requires strong project leadership across many teams, regions, and functions.
You will run projects from initiation through closure: building plans, coordinating technical and business stakeholders, managing risks and dependencies, and keeping leadership informed. Representative projects include rolling out an application security posture management platform across development teams, and expanding secure web gateway and zero-trust access capabilities that protect how the IQVIA workforce connects to applications and the internet. Other work may span cloud security coverage for acquired environments, data discovery and classification, and the security integration of newly acquired companies.
The role suits a technically fluent project manager who understands security concepts well enough to engage credibly with engineers and architects, and who can translate technical work into clear plans, decisions, and communications for leadership and end users.
You will sit within the global Information Security organization, partnering with Security Architecture, Application Security, Cloud Security, Security Operations, IAM, IT infrastructure and networking, end-user computing, procurement, and development teams across IQVIA’s business units and regions.
Principal responsibilities will include:
• Plan and manage technical security projects end to end, defining scope, objectives, milestones, resourcing, and success criteria in partnership with project sponsors and technical leads.
• Build and maintain integrated project plans and schedules, tracking dependencies across security, infrastructure, networking, and application teams, and keeping delivery on track against committed timelines.
• Coordinate platform deployments that depend on development team adoption, including onboarding waves, integration with source code and CI/CD systems, and follow-through with engineering teams to drive coverage and usage.
• Manage workforce-facing rollouts of security capabilities, including pilot groups, phased deployment waves, regional sequencing, rollback planning, and go/no-go decisions.
• Lead change management for rollouts that affect end users, including communications plans, user guidance, training materials, and service desk readiness, in partnership with end-user computing and communications teams.
• Maintain RAID logs (risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies), identifying delivery risks early and driving mitigation and escalation to resolution.
• Track project budgets, purchase orders, and vendor deliverables and milestones, working with procurement and finance and flagging variances to project sponsors.
• Coordinate with vendors and professional services partners on implementation plans, statements of work, and delivery milestones.
• Prepare materials for steering committees and leadership reviews, including status, decisions required, risks, and recommendations.
• Maintain portfolio-level reporting across Information Security projects, giving leadership clear visibility into status, health, resourcing, and upcoming milestones.
• Support projects involving acquired businesses, coordinating security integration activities, extending security platform coverage to acquired environments, and aligning timelines with broader integration programs.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery of data security initiatives, such as data discovery and classification deployments, involving data owners, platform teams, Privacy, and Legal.
• Manage project work in Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) and ServiceNow, maintaining accurate plans, documentation, and change records aligned with IQVIA change management processes.
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to repeatable delivery practices, templates, and standards for Information Security projects.
Required Experience and Qualifications
• 5–7 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years managing technical, infrastructure, or IT projects in a global or matrixed organization.
• Proven track record of delivering projects end to end, including planning, scheduling, dependency management, risk and issue management, and project closure.
• Working understanding of information security concepts — such as application security, network and web security, zero-trust access, cloud security, and data protection — sufficient to engage credibly with engineers and architects.
• Experience coordinating technical deployments across multiple teams, such as infrastructure, networking, cloud, application development, and end-user computing.
• Experience managing enterprise rollouts that affect end users, including pilots, phased deployments, communications, and service desk readiness.
• Experience tracking project budgets, purchase orders, and vendor deliverables, and working with procurement and finance teams.
• Experience preparing steering committee and executive status reporting, with the ability to present risks, decisions, and trade-offs clearly and concisely.
• Hands-on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) and ServiceNow for project tracking, documentation, and change management.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build alignment across technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors without direct authority.
• Background in security projects, such as security platform deployments, network security transformations, or M&A integration, is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated environments is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
• Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum/Agile are preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively across a global, matrixed organization.
