Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Nigeria – Onshore Oil & Gas Project
Reports To: Country Manager / Regional Director
Rotation : 9 weeks on 3 weeks off
Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution and delivery of Ponticelli’s onshore oil & gas project in Nigeria. This includes overall planning, coordination, and management of resources to ensure project objectives are met in terms of safety, quality, schedule, and budget. The Project Manager acts as the primary point of contact for the client and oversees all phases of the project lifecycle, from mobilization to completion and close-out.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of the onshore oil & gas project from contract award to final handover.
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, and quality control.
- Serve as the client’s main interface, maintaining clear communication and addressing any issues or changes.
- Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee project planning and scheduling activities to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Monitor project budgets and control costs through effective forecasting and reporting.
- Implement and maintain HSE management systems to achieve zero-incident operations.
- Drive performance across the team with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Lead regular project reviews, risk assessments, and stakeholder meetings.
- Prepare and present progress reports, KPIs, and decision-support documentation to senior management.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical) or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in a Project Manager role on large-scale onshore projects.
- Strong knowledge of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project execution.
- Demonstrated experience working in Africa or other challenging environments preferred.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
- Proficient in project management tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost control systems.
- Sound understanding of international standards, QA/QC procedures, and HSE regulations.
- Certifications & Additional Requirements:
- PMP®, PRINCE2®, or equivalent project management certification strongly preferred.
- Valid HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH International General Certificate).
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French is an advantage
- Willingness to work in remote site conditions on a rotational or expatriate basis.
