Job Description

The Project Manager will report to the ITG Enterprise Infrastructure Services Program Manager and is responsible for managing information technology projects throughout the Arizona Department of Transportation. Performs full lifecycle of project management activities (planning, requirements definition, business case, analysis, design, testing, documentation, training, implementation and support) of infrastructure/distributed systems projects.

• Experience with managing technical resources and maintaining project schedules and budgets.

• Strong technical background in IT infrastructure with an emphasis on technology development/deployment.

• Configure, optimize and maintain Windows Servers in an Active Directory, multi-domain environment.

• TCP/IP design and troubleshooting skills in a large, multi-subnet environment.

• Excellent business communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Excellent technical writing, reviewing and editing skills.

• Working knowledge of and ability to apply industry-standard project management best practices.

• Working knowledge of and ability to apply IT Service Management best practices.

Ability to:

• Work independently on tasks of moderate-high complexity.

• Create and maintain system topology maps and operational documentation.

• Implement software and infrastructure solutions in an enterprise environment.

• Excellent Organizational and time management abilities with emphases on accuracy and detail.

• Interpret business requirements and effectively implement into a software solution.

• Work effectively with a wide range of people.

• Work efficiently and meet deadlines.

• Level of understanding of specific IT disciplines to complete major projects independently.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Will possess 5 plus years of IT system administration and project management experience managing infrastructure/distributed systems projects, which included knowledge of project planning, organization, management and control, and the ability to work well with others with varying degrees of technical expertise; and proficient working knowledge of project management practices, and MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Preference is given to candidates who have a PMP, CAPM or ITIL certification and prior experience supporting government clients in an IT environment.
