Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Management Specialist - Integrated Product Team Lead (Level 5) to join the Integrated Payload Array Project Management team in El Segundo, CA!
The Cost Account Manager (CAM) Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead will manage daily project execution in one (or more) of the subsystem areas on the integrated payload array (IPA) product line, coordinate and communicate with all required functions & suppliers from early program baselining thru final flight delivery; delivering IPA hardware on-time & within budget.
The Common Products portfolio consists of satellite integrated payload array (IPA) product line. The CAM/IPT Lead will manage daily project execution for one or more integrated array programs; perform earned value management, estimates at completion, manage risk and opportunity, coordinate and communicate with all required functions & suppliers from early program proposal through final flight delivery; delivering subsystem hardware on-time & within budget.
Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversees, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for highly complex or difficult projects, programs and change driven activities to execute in accordance with project management industry standards.
- Directs and provides high level studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), determines scope, reports, and oversight of planning requests. Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case.
- Develops and executes the process and strategy for the integration of plans and schedules.
- Consults and recommends integrated planning, scheduling, change and baseline management, processes, techniques and tools to management considered to be best practices across the industry.
- Recognized as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
- Authorizes commitment of resources by obtaining approvals from stakeholders.
- Oversees deployment of approved recommendations at Division, Business Unit, and/or Enterprise levels.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in El Segundo, CA.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field
- 5+ years of experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects, transactions, or initiatives
- 10+ years of experience analyzing data, creating reports, and presenting results
- Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
- 5+ years of experience in program management of technical programs for aerospace or other engineering business areas
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with electronics design
- 3+ years of experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) or experience creating estimates
- 3+ years of experience developing and/or maintaining integrated schedules
- 3+ years of experience with RIO (Risks, Issues and Opportunities) processes and tools
- 3+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
