The Project Management Coordinator is responsible for leading a team of Project Managers in the execution of complex cross-functional projects, including customer product launches, capital investments, and APQP-related deliverables. This role provides leadership and oversight across all project phases—from initiation through closure—ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality requirements are met. While primarily focused on execution, the Coordinator will also contribute to project portfolio alignment and prioritization as needed.
The role requires coordination across all departments, frequent interaction with OEM customers, and ownership of project management tools and methodologies used throughout the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development-
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers.

Review and approve project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource strategies.

Conduct performance reviews, skills assessments, and one-on-one coaching.

Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Oversee execution of major projects including customer launches (APQP/PPAP), capital investments, and process improvements.

Ensure all projects meet timeline, budget, and quality expectations.

Support creation of project charters, resource plans, Gantt charts, and risk mitigation strategies.

Step in to directly manage high-priority or at-risk projects as needed.

Serve as the escalation point for project delays, risks, or customer concerns.

Coordinate with Sales, R&D, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS teams to ensure alignment.

Ensure proper resourcing and clear communication across departments.

Own and improve project management tools (Microsoft Project, Salesforce, dashboards, etc.).

Establish project KPIs, stage-gate processes, timelines, and reporting structures.

Provide training and support on PM tools and best practices.

Ensure adherence to APQP, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.

Participate in OEM/customer project reviews and meetings.

Provide clear, accurate project updates and timelines.

Support customer audits, launch readiness reviews, and issue resolution.

Assist in prioritizing active projects against backlog and resource constraints.

Support leadership in go/no-go decisions and resource allocation discussions.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field preferred.

5+ years of project management experience in automotive, manufacturing, or related industry.

Experience leading project teams or supervising Project Managers is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 requirements.

Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Salesforce, dashboards).
