Responsibilities:
The Project Engineer is primarily responsible for the planning and execution of construction activities. From developing construction work plans to supporting Superintendents and Foremen in the field, the Project Engineer will coordinate with Safety and Quality employees to ensure operations meet AB and Owner requirements. The Project Engineer delegates planning and execution tasks to (2) or more Field Engineers.
Secondary Responsibilities:
o The Project Engineer will coordinate with major Subcontractors and Suppliers. This includes managing schedule and delivery expectations, submittals, onsite work, change orders, invoices and any discrepancies.
o The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager’s cost control responsibilities. These include documenting and maintaining quantity and production tracking, cost forecasts, and Look Ahead activity schedules.
o The Project Engineer will mentor Field Engineers and Interns, this includes being proactive on Safety and Quality Assurance and provide areas for Field Engineers to expand their experiences.
Requirements:
- (5) Years minimum in heavy civil construction serving as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar role.
Skills Required
- Minimum 5 years in heavy civil construction as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar role
- Experience with AWS D1.5 field welding and field welding operations
- Experience with marine-based structural steel and machinery refurbishment projects
- Ability to coordinate major subcontractors and suppliers including schedules, submittals, change orders, and invoices
- Experience supporting cost control: quantity/production tracking, cost forecasts, and Look Ahead schedules
- Experience mentoring Field Engineers and Interns and enforcing Safety and Quality Assurance
