About the Opportunity 

We deliver complex major programmes including construction of new power stations, operational support and life extension for the existing fleet, and clean-up of the nuclear legacy. We are leaders in reactor technology, conceptual design and engineering for new nuclear technologies including Generation IV advanced reactors, small modular reactors and fusion power.

Amentum South Africa (Pty) Ltd, an EPC company that does Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) installation projects in the Nuclear Industry (Koeberg Nuclear Power Station), has an opening for a Project Engineering Manager  position in our Melkbosstrand office. In this position, you will work with engineers on development and infrastructure projects that require teamwork and problem-solving capabilities.  You'll also support business development with collaboration across the international base of the organisation. Key responsibilities will be:

• Assist in the planning and design of engineering and other technical projects.

• Coordinate project activities, resources, and information. 

• Support the production of project related documentation.

• Support client meetings and support technical and contractual discussions.

• Provide technical support to the engineering teams to resolve issues.

• Maintain effective communication with the client and other stakeholders.

• Lead, coach, mentor engineering and project management teams

• Strategy and business development 

• SME support to Amentum overseas and international collaboration,

• UK / Amentum overseas consulting 

Here's What You'll Need 

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline - Mechanical, Electrical, Civil).

• Project engineering experience, preferably in a nuclear power plant or regulated environment.

• Communication, problem-solving, and technical writing skills

• Experience in business development and strategy implementation

• Insights on international collaboration

• Able to communicate and influence in a consultancy environment
