Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Civil Engineering Project Engineer in the Sacramento or Roseville Water Resources’ Flood and Drainage group.  The position entails overseeing and performing technical analysis, performing project management, client management, overseeing designs, drafting of construction plans, and preparation of construction specifications as well as project scheduling, site inspections, construction cost estimating, construction management, and construction assistance. 

What you will be doing

• Leading a design team advancing water resources projects.
• Field review of project sites to develop designs for new or rehabilitated facilities.
• Preparing and overseeing technical analyses and engineering designs.
• Coordinating with Project owners, resource and permitting agencies, and outside consultants.
• Performing AutoCAD Drafting and GIS Exhibit Development
• Construction coordination/inspection/management/documents review

The ante

• Ability to oversee a team of engineers and supporting staff.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Client management and communications experience.
• Years of experience in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Project.
• Professional Civil Engineering License in California.
• Graduation from an Accredited College or University in Civil Engineering.
• Valid CA driver’s license.

Things we’d like to see:

• 10 or more years preparing engineering technical analyses and design of Water Resource-related projects.
• Past experience as a Project Engineer on Water Resources projects.
• Formal Project Management training or certification.
• Understanding of California Central Valley environmental agencies and other State and Federal regulatory agencies.
• Participation in an industry-related professional organization.

$48.25 - $53.00 hourly + overtime paid at time and a half
