We are looking for a proactive and solution-oriented Project Engineer to strengthen Fermion’s engineering and investment project capabilities. This is a permanent position based at Fermion’s Oulu manufacturing site.

 

Your role

 

Fermion continuously invests in the development of its manufacturing facilities and production equipment to support pharmaceutical API manufacturing.

As a Project Engineer, you will support investment projects and technical changes at Fermion’s Oulu site. Working closely with Project Managers, you will contribute to project planning and execution by preparing technical documentation, engineering calculations, qualification materials and other project deliverables.

 

You will support equipment procurement, installation and commissioning activities, coordinate technical tasks with suppliers and contractors, and participate in maintenance shutdowns and project implementation activities. You will be part of Fermion’s Technical Operations team, which is responsible for the planning, construction and commissioning of production-related investments.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and update engineering documentation, including qualification documents, procedures, equipment documentation, factory drawings and P&ID diagrams in accordance with GMP and company requirements.. 

  • Assist in the coordination of day-to-day project activities and follow-up actions. 

  • Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary engineering designs, technical calculations and technical documentation. 

  • Coordinate designated equipment packages and technical tasks from procurement through installation, commissioning and handover to production. 

  • Contribute to the continuous development of Fermion's manufacturing facilities and engineering practices.

What are we looking for?

 

To succeed in this position, you have:

  • A relevant technical degree (BSc, MSc or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field

  • Experience in industrial equipment, manufacturing environments or engineering projects

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&ID diagrams and engineering documentation

  • Good project management, communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders

  • Fluent written and spoken Finnish and English

 

Considered an advantage:

  • Knowledge of GMP requirements and equipment qualification practices

  • AutoCAD or other engineering design software skills

  • SAP user experience

The company has produced APIs in Hanko, Finland since 1973, and the plant currently has personnel of 180. The company's Oulu plant commenced operations back in 1964 and currently employs more than 100 professionals. Fermion’s head office is in Espoo where R&D, S&M and part of QM personnel are located. Altogether approximately 400 professionals work for Fermion.
