The Senior Project Engineer plays a key role in driving project execution from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents on large-scale, vertical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead RFI, submittal, and document control processes with minimal oversight
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to maintain schedule and quality
Assist in project scheduling, phasing plans, and look-ahead planning
Track and manage project costs, change orders, and budget impacts
Support buyout and procurement efforts for key trades
Drive QA/QC processes and ensure work aligns with plans/specs
Maintain strong communication between field operations and office teams
Assist in project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation

Qualifications
Required
10+ years of utility, transmission, substation, or power infrastructure experience
Experience supporting high-voltage substation construction
Strong understanding of transmission and substation installations
Ability to read and interpret:
Physical design drawings
General arrangement drawings
Equipment layouts
Foundation drawings
Structural drawings
Construction specifications
Experience supporting construction teams in a field environment
Strong QA/QC and constructability review experience
Ability to travel frequently throughout the Upper Midwest
Valid driver's license
Skills Required
