Position Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for owning and driving technical engineering projects from concept through production, with primary emphasis on hands-on engineering, problem solving, and execution on the production floor. This role ensures all technical requirements are met and engineering solutions are delivered on schedule. While project management capability is important, it is applied in support of engineering execution—not as the primary function. The ideal candidate will have strong aerospace manufacturing expertise, deep technical competence, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional activities to keep programs moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering efforts from design and development through qualification and production release, with direct involvement in technical problem solving and manufacturing support.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for assigned programs, interfacing with internal engineering, operations teams, and external customers.
- Develop realistic project schedules and technical plans that drive engineering execution (project management as a supporting tool, not a standalone focus).
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts between design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to resolve engineering issues and maintain forward progress.
- Create, review, and approve engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, and process instructions.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain product lifecycle documentation with strong attention to technical accuracy.
- Support production ramp-up by diagnosing and resolving engineering issues on the shop floor; contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Communicate technical risks, design decisions, and project status to stakeholders in a clear, engineering-focused manner.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing

- Ability to visually inspect parts, drawings, and documents with close attention to detail.
- Must be able to work in both office and manufacturing environments, which may include exposure to moderate noise, machining equipment, and airborne particles.
