The Project Engineer II/III/Sr/Expert drives the successful delivery of EQT’s midstream capital pipeline projects – from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and turnover. This role ensures that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards. By aligning engineering, construction, regulatory, and operations teams, the Project Manager safeguards EQT’s infrastructure integrity and maximizes value capture across the gas gathering and transmission network.
This position directly influences EQT’s ability to move gas efficiently to market, maintain operational excellence, and uphold the company’s environmental stewardship and community commitments.
The Project Engineer II/III/Sr/Expert responsibilities include but are not limited to:
End-to-End Project Delivery:
- Lead all phases of midstream pipeline projects — scope development, design coordination, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and closeout.
Budget & Schedule Ownership:
- Develop and manage capital budgets, forecasts, and schedules; ensure projects meet or exceed cost, quality, and time performance metrics.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Serve as the primary point of accountability between land, permitting, regulatory, engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
Regulatory & Environmental Compliance:
- Oversee permitting, environmental restoration, and field compliance activities to ensure projects adhere to all state, federal, and EQT standards.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively through planning, communication, and technical oversight.
Communication:
- Clear, concise communicator with strong technical writing and documentation abilities. Collaborative mindset with a bias for action and accountability.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in midstream pipeline or energy infrastructure project management, with a proven record of delivering complex capital projects.
- Strong understanding of pipeline design & construction industry and regulatory standards.
- Proficient in cost tracking, scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project), and project management tools.
- Familiarity with FERC, PHMSA, DEP, and state-level permitting and compliance requirements.
- Deep commitment to field safety, environmental protection, and operational excellence.\
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel regularly to field locations.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Familiarity with Appalachian basin operations.
- Experience working with third-party engineering and environmental firms.
- Knowledge of GIS tools and inspection management platforms
Work Location:
- This position will operate in a hybrid capacity, with work occurring from home, in the field, and in the office.
Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
