We are looking for an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of large-scale technology projects and programs. In this role, you will oversee multiple project teams, drive delivery excellence, and ensure projects meet client expectations while achieving business and commercial objectives.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders and clients to strengthen relationships, manage complex delivery challenges, and identify opportunities for account growth. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and project governance capabilities with sound commercial judgment and a proven track record of managing large project portfolios.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee a portfolio of technology projects and programs, ensuring successful delivery, high-quality outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executive-level clients, acting as the primary escalation point for critical project and delivery matters.
- Monitor portfolio performance, including delivery quality, revenue, profitability, resource utilization, and overall operational efficiency.
- Drive account growth by identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client partnerships, and supporting long-term client retention.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and delivery teams to strengthen leadership capabilities and delivery performance.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance, risk management, and delivery standards across the portfolio.
- Manage project escalations, delivery risks, and complex operational challenges to ensure timely resolution and business continuity.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align project delivery with business objectives, contractual commitments, and financial targets.
- Support business development activities, including bids, tenders, proposals, and strategic client engagements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of experience in project delivery, including 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple projects or programs.
- Proven experience managing large-scale technology initiatives, such as software development, digital transformation, cloud solutions, or government technology projects.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar project portfolios, with accountability for delivery performance, financial outcomes, and client satisfaction.
- Strong track record of leading Project Managers and large, cross-functional delivery teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong understanding of project, program, and portfolio management, including governance, risk management, and escalation handling.
- Solid commercial and financial management capabilities, including budgeting, profitability, resource utilization, and contractual management.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, resolve complex delivery challenges, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and business development capabilities.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification.
- PMI-ACP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent project management certification.
- Agile, Scrum, or ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience managing distributed delivery teams across multiple countries.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and technology services environments.
- Experience working with government, public sector, or enterprise clients.
- Proven experience in account growth, client retention, and commercial opportunity development.
- Experience participating in bidding, tender, and proposal processes.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a results-oriented mindset.
