About the Role:
In this strategically important role, you will oversee the construction of the facility expansion of our existing manufacturing facility in Japan and the establishment of essential infrastructure and manufacturing lines to support our growing portfolio in the Japanese market.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, manage a diverse project team, and ensure the successful delivery of all project objectives, including quality, compliance, and budget management.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing an execution strategy by translating the overall area strategy into operational goals for successful project delivery, ensuring the fulfilment of the project plan and objectives.
  • Building a strong project execution team and working closely with key stakeholders and managing relationships with local construction companies and external partners.
  • Overseeing project budgeting, timelines, and project performance indicators.
  • Ensuring all necessary local permits and approvals are obtained and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Fruitfully working with external vendors in Japan.


If you are not already located in Japan, the role can initially be based in Søborg, Denmark, or virtually from other locations for approx. 1 year. The job will require relocation to Japan for approx. 3 years in the project execution phase.
Qualifications:
We realise that few people are experts at everything. But if you can nod your head at the following attributes, then you could be the person we are looking for:

  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant project execution experience.
  • A successful track record of leading large-scale investment projects (>500 million DKK).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading cross-organizational and multicultural project teams in a complex environment.
  • A relevant project management certification, such as PMP, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated cultural intelligence and adaptability, with the ability to build effective, diverse teams.
  • Experience in regulated industries with knowledge of compliance and quality standards.


Novo Nordisk will help with the practical aspect of relocation, but it is a prerequisite for employment that you can obtain permission to work in Japan.
