About the Role
MASSIV Automated Systems, an advanced technology-based division of Magna International Inc., specializes in the design and build of automated/robotic assembly lines for the automotive industry. Our areas of expertise include hemming (robotic and table top), laser welding, and assembly line welding. Our customers include other divisions within Magna and the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as General Motors, Chrysler and Ford.
We are a true global supplier to the automotive industry! Our assembly lines provide a diverse range of automotive products such as doors, hoods, liftgates and underbody parts to customers in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Asia and Europe.
The Project Coordinator will work directly with the Program Manager, ensuring the execution of an assembly system from inception to full conclusion is met in a timely manner. The Project Coordinator will assist, document and consistently communicate to all involved parties, throughout all phases of assembly project, from build through to installation and commissioning.
Your Responsibilities
• Attend design review meetings at design source, as required• Assist with monitoring the progress in design of assembly lines and liaison with design source• Ensure that customer specifications and standards are adhered to during design and build phase• Release designs to the appropriate departments and maintain tool design release form• Create and maintain Product Bill of Materials• Input and maintain purchase orders in Visual Manufacturing System• Liaison with suppliers on the technical aspects of purchased items and with the Purchasing Department on the selection of purchased items and on the late delivery of regular purchased items• Attend project review meetings with customer• Maintain a concise open issue list as required at every stage of the program• Coordinate and track progress of projects through the shop• Follow up on any design build concerns / interpretation experienced during build phase, record any corrective actions taken and ensure that revisions are made to designs, to maintain an "as built" level of design• Ensure queries are answered with all team members during equipment build in a timely manner• Assist with the launch of programs• Enable the availability of required try-out sample parts for various build phases of the project• Ensure that all documents are prepared for buyoff (i.e. Manuals, Dimensional reports, Buyoff sheets, Drawings, and any other documentation required by the customer) and are stored correctly• Follow up installation of equipment at customer's site• Ensure all the customer requirements for the final buy-off are met• Excellent verbal, and written communication skills • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, specifically when dealing with customers• Follow all safety rules, standards, and procedures at all times in all areas• Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner, and consult your Manager if you are not 100% sure how to perform tasks in a safe manner• Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy, and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce quality products• Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world class quality products are supplied to our customers• Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvement• Responsible for teambuilding and fostering of relationships with customers, various departments, and shop floor employees at all levels• Perform other related duties as required
Who we are looking for
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Mechanical Engineering Degree / Diploma / Certificate of Qualification and / or applicable work experience
CORE COMPETENCIES:• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD and Visual Manufacturing System• Automotive tooling background is required• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required
