Holtec Palisades is currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY
The Project Controls Specialist is a key member of the project team and works directly with the Project Manager(s) to help define the project's goals and objectives; create and maintain project budgets and schedules, analyze progress reported against the work schedules; and recommend actions to improve project performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports development of baseline budgets and schedules for new projects/programs
- Develops and maintains a project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Supports project reporting processes as required
- Understands progress/performance data and associated concepts and principles
- Helps to collect progress data and reviews performance trends and forecast
- Ensure financial information accuracy between program-level and subproject reporting; recommends and executes corrective actions to handle project compliance
- Exhibits knowledge of earned value, scope control and change management concepts, principles, and methodologies
- Performs basic analysis of essential parameters in Earned Value Management (EVM), including Schedule Variance and Cost Variance, if EVM is contractually invoked
- Assists in tracking subcontract commitments and expenditures
- Familiar with scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts, and principles
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Engineering, Project Management, Business Management or Finance preferred.
- 3 years’ related experience in a technical project support role. Knowledge of project controls practices and standards preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team or independent environment to satisfy project and business requirements.
- Ability to prepare and present various types of reports to all levels of management.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Ability to multi-task and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work complex issues, meet deadlines.
- Advanced application of Excel capabilities (knowledgeable in creation and operation of Pivot and Lookup tables).
