STV is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls department at our Dallas, TX office, to support cost, schedule, and performance management on complex infrastructure and capital projects.
This role will play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget by supporting cost tracking, scheduling, forecasting, and change management activities. The ideal candidate is well-versed in project controls fundamentals and capable of independently supporting key project reporting and analysis functions.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management & Forecasting
Support development and maintenance of project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasts
Perform cost variance analysis, trend identification, and forecasting (EAC) to track financial performance
Review invoices, pay applications, and cost documentation for accuracy and compliance
Assist in evaluating change orders and understanding budget impacts
Scheduling & Performance Tracking
Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar CPM tools
Support schedule updates, progress tracking, and milestone monitoring
Perform basic schedule impact analysis and delay evaluations
Track project performance against baseline schedules and KPIs
Change Management & Risk Support
Assist in change management processes, including cost and schedule impact analysis
Support risk identification and tracking in coordination with project teams
Help maintain documentation to support claims avoidance and issue resolution
Reporting & Communication
Prepare project controls reports, dashboards, and status updates for internal teams and clients
Ensure data accuracy across project controls systems and reporting tools
Communicate project performance trends, risks, and issues to project teams and leadership
Project Controls Integration
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and field teams to align cost and schedule data
Support implementation of project controls procedures, tools, and best practices
Maintain project documentation, logs, and reporting systems
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Approximately 4–6 years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or scheduling
Experience supporting cost control, forecasting, and scheduling functions
Working knowledge of CPM scheduling principles and tools (Primavera P6 preferred)
Understanding of earned value management, change management, and risk analysis principles
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting infrastructure, transportation, or large capital programs
Familiarity with PMIS platforms such as e-Builder, Kahua, Unifier, or similar systems
Exposure to earned value management (EVM) and performance reporting
Professional certifications such as AACE (CCP, PSP) or willingness to pursue
