Job Description:

We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist with a strong focus on Cost & Scheduling Management to join our dynamic team. This role requires expertise in project controls, cost forecasting, contract management, and invoice review. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple lines of business. This position offers a hybrid work environment with occasional on-site meetings. We are supporting several locations throughout Northern and Central California.

Role Overview

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules (primarily in Primavera P6).
  • Establish and track cost control baselines and budgets for multi-phase projects.
  • Perform earned value analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting for schedule and cost.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and dashboards for internal leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, and finance teams to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Assist with risk identification, mitigation planning, and what-if schedule/cost analyses.
  • Support change management, including evaluation of change orders and impacts to schedule and cost.
  • Contribute to claims support and time-impact analyses as needed.

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience in project controls with a strong focus on scheduling and cost management for large, complex engineering or construction programs.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6; experience with additional project controls and cost management tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate schedule and cost data for comprehensive project performance tracking.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to present complex data clearly.
  • Experience on infrastructure, transportation, water/wastewater, or other capital projects preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Ability to travel to and support various project and client locations throughout Northern and Central California.
  • Comfortable working with geographically dispersed teams and in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent work experience) and typically 5+ years of related work experience.

Salary Range: $74,800.00 - $130,900.00
