Peoplr is seeking a Project Accounting Representative (A/P, Payroll) for
our client, Oreair Electric, in the electrical construction industry. This job is ideal for proactive,
detail-oriented professionals who are eager to grow their project accounting,
payroll, and accounts payable career in a fast paced, dynamic small company. The
Project Accounting Representative, is a full-time, onsite position.
What You’ll Do (Key
Responsibilities)
As a Project Accounting Rep (A/P, Payroll) you will…
- Process
and audit payroll for field and office employees, ensuring accurate calculation
of employee hours and labor allocations; maintain payroll records and prepare
payroll-related reports.
- Review,
approve, and process accounts payable transactions, including invoices,
requisitions, and vendor payments, ensuring timely and accurate entry into the
accounting system.
- Support
project accounting functions by maintaining owner invoices, purchase orders,
subcontracts, retainage documentation, and job cost records.
- Administer
subcontractor compliance requirements, including insurance certificates,
contract documentation, and lien waivers, and coordinate resolution of
deficiencies with project management.
- Assist
with audit preparation, vendor issue resolution, project closeout activities,
and other accounting support functions while maintaining accurate financial and
project records.

Required
Qualifications
- At
least 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable, payroll, and/or general
accounting experience
- Prior
payroll experience or eagerness to learn
- Knowledge
of construction industry procedures related to accounts payable processing
including W9 collection, certificates of insurance (COIs), lien processing, job
cost accounting, purchase orders
- High
proficiency and comfortability with Microsoft Excel functions including
PivotTables, formulas, charts, and graphs
- Proficiency
with ERP software or ability to get up to speed quickly
- Excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player
- Ability
to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Desire
to learn and grow skills, industry knowledge, and technical expertise
- Strong
detail orientation and commitment to excellence in work
- Adaptable
and flexible; able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, smaller company
environment
- Associate’s
degree in business, accounting or equivalent combination of training and
experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on
experience with Oracle
- Experience
using AI tools to enhance Excel or other accounting processes
- Bachelor's
degree
