John Snow, inc. (JSI) is a US based international public Health consulting firm and manages to project/contract through its integrated office in Abuja, Nigeria. Through the Partnership for supply Chain Management consortium, JSI implements the supply chain management system (SCMS) project for the US Government as part of the United States President’s emergency plan for AIDS relief (PEPFAR). The purpose is to establish and operate a safe, secure, reliable and sustainable supply chain management system to procure pharmaceuticals and other products needed for the care and treatment of person living with HIV and related infections. JSI implements the USAID/DELIVER project, funded by the United States Agency for international development (USAID), a global technical assistance project aimed at increasing the availability of essential health supplies thorough procurement services and assistance designed to strengthen health commodity supply chains in developing countries.
To support the implementation of the health supply chain project in Nigeria, JSI is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions.
Job DescriptionManage the JSI field accounts system, review chart of accounts, generate QB reports as needed for project reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Regularly updates QuickBooks, prepare bank account reconciliation resolve account variances in compliance with all US Government (USG) and JSI financial management and accounting policies and regulations.
Process expense reports, travel advances and retirements; prepare vouchers, review receipts and other supporting documentation to ensure accuracy before forwarding for payment.
Ensure that timesheets for local project staff are properly completed, approved monthly, and maintain employee leave balances.
Ensure that all financial transaction are completed with high degree of accuracy, in full transaction are completed with high degree of accuracy, in full compliance with USG and JSI requirements, and within established timelines.
Ensure timely and responsive communication with the JSI HQ based field office support staff and assist with the development and monitoring of the project budget.
Reconcile and track outstanding advances, update inventory logs, monitor projects expenses and track expenditures and accruals.
Provide support and guidance to program and other administrative staff in accordance with JSI policy and procedures.
Qualifications
Applicants for this positions should be Nigerian nationals or resident who posses the following minimum skill and qualification.
Advanced (post B.A) degree in accounting and/or financial management.
At least 3 years of financial experience.
Experience with quick book strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft word and Excel
Experience and knowledge of Nigeria tax laws.
Financial experience with a USAID funded project and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations would be an advantage.
Ability to take initiatives and to work in teams.
