Position Overview

Staxmatic is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger support for our commercial construction projects. This role works closely with the Controller and Operations to keep job costs, billing, and financial reporting accurate and on schedule. It's a great fit for a construction-savvy accounting professional who's comfortable owning the details in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: Up to $80,000 annually based on experience
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday
  • Pay Frequency: Weekly

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure alignment with approved financial plans
  • Prepare and process project-related invoices, purchase orders, and change orders
  • Reconcile project costs, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses
  • Support forecasting and reporting for ongoing projects
  • Maintain organized financial records, documentation, and tools to support accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and accounting team to ensure proper project accounting practices
  • Assist with audits, month-end close processes, and financial reporting as needed
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, construction industry preferred
  • Experience with the full AP and AR cycles, including reconciliations
  • Proficient in Procore, QuickBooks, and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with Operations and Executive management
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background check requirements

Skills Required

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Construction industry experience
  • Experience with full accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles, including reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Procore, QuickBooks, and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with Operations and Executive management
  • Valid driver's license
