We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Accountant II to support the Los Angeles Community College District's multi-billion-dollar Bond Program. This is an excellent opportunity for accounting professionals looking to gain experience in capital improvement and construction program finance while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

*Salary Range: $70K/Year-$85K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications

Hybrid Schedule: One (1) work-from-home (WFH) day per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process invoices, payment requests, and encumbrances.
  • Assist with financial analysis and reporting for ongoing capital projects.
  • Reconcile accounts and bank statements.
  • Prepare journal entries, debit memos, and credit memos.
  • Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies and documentation issues.
  • Work closely with project teams, consultants, vendors, and campus personnel regarding financial matters.
  • Support the development of financial reports and process improvements.
  • Help ensure compliance with bond funding requirements and accounting procedures.

Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in invoice processing, accounts payable, project accounting, or a related accounting function.
  • Associate degree, college certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other business software applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting construction, capital improvement, public sector, or project-based accounting environments.
  • Experience working with financial management or project management systems.
