Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst II to join our Network Infrastructure team. As a key member of this team, you will work closely with network engineers and analysts to develop and implement automation solutions that enhance existing tools and workflows. Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, testing, and deploying automation scripts and tools that streamline network operations, improve efficiency, and reduce manual errors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with network engineers and analysts to identify opportunities for automation and develop solutions to automate repetitive tasks and processes
- Design, develop, test, and deploy automation scripts and tools using programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash
- Integrate automation solutions with existing network management tools, such as network monitoring systems, configuration management systems, and ticketing systems
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation scripts and tools, including user guides, technical guides, and code comments
- Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts and tools, working closely with network engineers and analysts to resolve issues
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge and expertise to improve automation solutions and processes
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall quality of the codebase
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement best practices for automation development, testing, and deployment
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in programming and automation, preferably in a network operations or engineering environment
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash
- Experience with automation frameworks and tools, such as Ansible, SaltStack, or similar
- Familiarity with network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols
- Experience with network management systems, such as SNMP, NetFlow, and syslog
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with containerization and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Experience with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL
- Entry-level experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs), including:
- + Familiarity with AI and LLM concepts, such as natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning
+ Experience with AI and LLM tools and frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face
+ Understanding of how AI and LLMs can be applied to network automation and operations
- + Familiarity with AI and LLM concepts, such as natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
