Programme Cordinator

Job Summary The Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving our non-profit mission to address food insecurity and bridge the STEM education gap. This position manages the day-to-day field operations of climate-smart school gardens, tree-planting projects, and teacher training programs across partner schools. Additionally, the Program Coordinator leads the booking, scheduling, and execution of interactive educational visits for schools visiting our central greenhouse hub. This is an early career role ideal for a highly organized, resourceful professional who excels at field logistics, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on learning facilitation. Key Responsibilities: Greenhouse Educational Tour Coordination: Outreach to primary and secondary schools to schedule and manage bookings for educational visits; design tour itineraries and guide interactive demonstrations on hydroponics, soilless farming, and seedling propagation; oversee visitor arrival logistics, group safety, and post-visit feedback collection. School Garden & Field Operations: Direct multi-site field logistics for establishing upcycled vertical gardens, drip irrigation systems, and native tree planting across partner schools; procure, inspect, and track the distribution of agricultural inputs, hydroponic kits, and learning materials. Teacher & Volunteer Capacity Building: Serve as the primary operational point of contact for school heads and agricultural/science teachers; coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual teacher training workshops; recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with field tasks and greenhouse visit days. Data Monitoring & MERL Support: Conduct routine field checks to track quantitative impact metrics (e.g., student attendance numbers, greenhouse visit counts, crop yields, and tree survival rates); maintain updated databases using Google Sheets and Google Forms. NGO Stewardship & Grant Reporting: Prepare concise field visit summaries, case studies, and photographic documentation for donor reports and grant proposals; track activity-level expenses against program budgets to maintain operational transparency. Administrative & Stakeholder Liaison: Draft project communications, manage school partnership agreements (MoUs), and maintain organized digital files to support leadership and project teams. Key Qualifications & Skills: Experience: 0–2 years of experience in project coordination, community engagement, youth education, volunteer work, or agricultural/environmental outreach. (Prior experience with NGOs, school programs, or campus leadership is a strong plus). Event & Field Logistics: Strong organizational ability to manage school visit bookings, track materials, and handle multi-site schedules efficiently. Digital Literacy: Practical familiarity with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms), messaging platforms for field coordination (WhatsApp), and virtual tools. Communication & Facilitation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the enthusiasm and patience needed to engage school leaders, teachers, and young students. Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Quick thinking to resolve field logistics on the ground and comfortably work across diverse school environments.
