As a Program & Transformation Director, Merchant Services COS at JPMorgan Chase, you will oversee the execution of strategic programs within the Merchant Services Client Onboarding and Servicing business. Reporting to the Head of Transformation, you will orchestrate multiple workstreams and subworkstreams, ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will manage dependencies, drive cross-functional collaboration, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. The role offers the opportunity to directly own critical subworkstreams and transition to managing a team as the program scales. You will play a key role in shaping program management and transformation practices.
This position focuses on leading high-impact programs that support the Merchant Services product set. You will build strong relationships with internal partners across product, design, technology, and business leadership. The role requires exceptional communication skills to influence and mobilize resources at all levels. You will champion innovation and contribute to the development of new policies and ideas. The position may begin as an individual contributor, with a likely transition to managing 4-6 VP-level team members within 12 months.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the transformation and execution of strategic plans into high-impact programs and projects for Merchant Services COS.
  • Oversee and govern the progress of multiple related workstreams and subworkstreams, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
  • Directly own and execute one or more critical subworkstreams, ensuring delivery against program objectives.
  • Apply exceptional program management skills to plan, organize, and deliver complex initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Drive clear, effective communication at all levels, tailoring messaging for executive leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a productive and inclusive work environment, building diverse teams and promoting continuous learning.
  • Champion innovation by encouraging creative problem-solving and adoption of new technologies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Manage conflict and facilitate discussions to create win-win solutions and drive consensus.
  • Contribute to the development of new policies and ideas to enhance program management and transformation practices.
  • Mentor team members to support their professional growth and enhance program management capabilities.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant program management and transformation experience in a large organization, preferably within the financial sector.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, strategic transformation programs and projects.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple related workstreams and subworkstreams, with a focus on coordinating dependencies and cross-impacts.
  • Exceptional program management skills, including planning, organizing, and delivering complex initiatives.
  • Excellent storytelling and persuasion skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in cross-functional collaboration, working effectively across departments.
  • Expertise in conflict management and resolution, with the ability to facilitate productive discussions.
  • Experience driving change and managing stakeholders across product, technology, operations, and business leadership.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mobilize resources and drive execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive work environment and build diverse teams.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment, both as an individual contributor and as a manager.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Previous experience with Merchant Services products and client onboarding or servicing programs.
  • Experience in product development life cycle, strategic planning, and change management.
  • Ability to create high-quality senior/executive level program materials for decision-making.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for key partner discussions.
  • Experience mentoring team members for professional growth.
  • Familiarity with innovative technologies and approaches in program management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
