Job Description:

Vaxcom Services LLC (a Parsons company) is looking for an experienced Program Training Manager to join our team! In this role you will collaborate with corporate leadership, the program management team as well as Client/Customer leadership to help design, enhance, and deliver physical security training to unarmed and armed security personnel.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Working closely with the Vaxcom corporate Program Training Manager on all aspects of security training to ensure conformity and consistency in training curriculum, methods, and requirements/certifications.

  • Providing hands on applicable training/guidance/direction to other Program training supervisors/coordinators (AKA "train the trainer") who will in turn deliver that training across the program.

  • Reviewing tactical security related policies, regulations, and procedures specific to the Program sites regularly to provide modifications/enhancements to then be delivered through training courses/instruction.

  • Looking for new and cutting edge methods and technologies/equipment to maintain currency and enhance the overall training mission.

  • Coordinating operational standards and post order processes throughout the Program for uniformity, consistency, and use of best practices.

  • Coordinating "use of force" protocols with company leadership, the Vaxcom corporate Program Training Manager, Client/Customer leadership, and local law enforcement entities (as appropriate) and incorporating into formal training courses/classes.

  • Formulating emergency responses to critical incidents and constructing/delivering related training.

  • Coordinating and delivering a robust weapons qualification program using new as well as existing resources. This will include conducting actual hands-on instruction and testing.

  • Researching, coordinating, constructing, and delivering physical security related training programs/courses to a wide audience of novice and experienced armed security officers specific to your Program.

  • Working with the Program Manager/Deputy Program Manager to track the licensing and certifications of all security personnel, ensuring they are not only fully trained but are compliant and within scope.

  • Monitoring compliance of program training standards and adjusting training curriculum as needed.

  • Providing regular input to both company and Client/Customer leadership in order to keep all stakeholders informed as to Program training requirements and needs.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Security or a related field plus 2+ years of direct applicable physical security experience; or 5+ years direct applicable physical security experience in lieu of the degree.

  • Experience working in a classified environment, preferably in a security role.

  • 2+ years’ experience delivering training/instruction using a variety of methods.

  • 2+ years’ experience instructing physical security officers in either a classroom or a field environment.

  • 2+ years providing direction, training, or mentoring to armed security officers.

  • Experience in working with compliance processes.

  • Strong communication skills to include both written and oral, and the ability to effectively communicate with leaders/officers at all levels from different organizations.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally, effectively, and successfully with individuals at all levels of organization, building strong relationships, and communicating with confidence and respect.

  • Ability to multi-task competing priorities to accomplish mission objectives.

  • The availability to travel between various domestic sites when required.

  • T/S SCI clearance with polygraph.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience working in the Intelligence Community (IC), specifically in physical security environments.

  • 2+ years’ experience in instructional design and successful delivery of training courses.

  • Virginia DCJS instructor certification or other U.S. state instructor certifications dealing with armed security.

  • Understanding of or familiarity with K-9 programs.

  • Former federal or civilian law enforcement, USMIL, or corrections officer experience.

  • Substantial experience working various weapon systems to include handgun and rifle, handcuffs, baton, x-ray machines, magnetometers, vehicle/personnel screening, self-defense, and first aid/CPR/AED training.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
