Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Program Manager to lead a large contract providing administrative and strategic support to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of high-level DoD initiatives by managing personnel, overseeing program execution, and driving operational efficiency.

As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for staffing, training, process improvement, and performance management, ensuring that all administrative and analytical support functions operate at peak efficiency. This position requires a proven leader who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on management to deliver exceptional results in a high-tempo government environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee program action items, track correspondence, and coordinate program planning efforts.
  • Ensure comprehensive staffing management, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead a high-performing team, ensuring personnel are fully trained in DoD administrative and strategic communications policies.
  • Monitor program operations, track performance metrics, and implement corrective actions to maintain contract excellence.
  • Develop and submit monthly and quarterly status reports to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between internal teams, external agencies, and senior DoD leadership.
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of OUSD(A&S) support functions.
  • Maintain compliance with DoD regulations and policies, ensuring all administrative and analytical support aligns with government standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS Clearance.
  • Master’s Degree or higher in related field, equivalent experience/certification in a field relevant to the specific position, or substantial equivalent occupational experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of program management experience in a high-paced environment on programs of similar size and scope.
  • Strong leadership and staff management experience, with a focus on operational efficiency and personnel oversight.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Program Management Certification (PMP or equivalent).
  • Executive level technical experience with 7 years or more of relevant experience
  • Executive-level support experience within the DoD or federal agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, ensuring seamless contract execution.
  • Experience leading a large, multi-functional team in a high-op-tempo environment.
