Job Description
The Red Gate Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to manage a contract providing Acquisition Policy Expertise to the Acquisition Policy & Innovation (API) Directorate, a key component of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (USD(A&S)). API plays a pivotal role in enabling innovative acquisition strategies to deliver timely and effective capabilities to the Warfighter, managing and shaping policies for a $2 trillion portfolio of warfighting systems and services.
As a Program Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight and ensure programs adhere to the highest standards of cost, performance, and schedule. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly influence decision-making at the highest levels of the Department of Defense, supporting API’s mission to deliver cutting-edge capabilities and strategic acquisition data to leaders across the Defense Acquisition Community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary interface between the API Directorate and government leadership, responding promptly to requests and providing actionable solutions.
- Oversee the onboarding and offboarding of contractor personnel, ensuring compliance with all government-required procedures and documentation.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive Monthly Status Reports (MSRs) addressing progress on key projects, metrics, risks, and upcoming milestones.
- Lead a team in driving strategic initiatives, managing program portfolios, and aligning project objectives with API’s mission to support acquisition pathways.
- Ensure effective communication and delivery of professional briefings to senior DoD leaders, including Flag Officers, General Officers, and members of the Senior Executive Service.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Master’s degree or substantial equivalent occupational experience
- Minimum two years of experience with Microsoft Office™ and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering high-level briefings to senior military and civilian leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five or more years of experience leading teams of 20+ personnel.
- Extensive experience managing program cost, performance, and schedules for programs valued at $20 million or more.
- Background in supporting Headquarters-level DoD organizations, such as Agencies, Joint Staff, Services, Components, Major Commands, or Combatant Commands.
