About the Role
The Program Manager is a highly self-motivated individual who actively and effectively meets multiple deliverables of the project/s assigned to him or her. To be successful in this position one must be passionate about program management, highly organized and possess a strong will to meet and exceed both internal and external expectations in a tier-1 automotive environment. A Program Manager will ensure successful execution and delivery of automotive OEM tier-1 part supply programs starting from and through design, procurement, fabrication, testing, production stabilization, quality assurance and delivery to customers and their end user locations.
Who we are looking for
• Successful graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution in an engineering or technically related field.• Minimum 3 years work experience as a Program Manager with a proven history of results and/or 5 years in an automotive environment will be an asset.• Accredited PMP or working towards certification preferred.• Professional licensing desired but not required. • Experience with design, engineering and manufacture of ferrous and non-ferrous cold stamped, hot stamped, hydroformed or roll milled parts preferred.• Experience and understanding of automotive production processes and techniques as required to provide necessary guidance. • Experience in a Quality Environment- ISO/AQAP/MIL, or similar will be an asset.
Your Responsibilities
• Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Formet Expectations and Formet's Visions/Values through Magna's Employee Charter.• Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.• Proactively and effectively manage all programs using the Cosma Program Management Process (CPMP) with specific emphasis on project schedules and successful delivery of milestones that satisfy company requirements for product design, manufacturability, development, quality, cost, performance and timing.• Conduct all project phase and gate reviews with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders within the framework of the CPMP system.• Initiate, create or maintain all necessary program management documents as per the requirements of the CPMP system.• Identify and communicate any impediments to the successful completion of program objectives and milestones to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions that will facilitate correction of any project deliverables that have varied from plan.• Oversee day to day adherence to plan and work within the final budget approved for assigned programs/projects by company principals. • Identify and communicate any deviations to program budget to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.• Proactively engage and liaise with the required functional disciplines / departments to obtain program support and successful delivery of program milestones.• Facilitate executive level interaction between appropriate company, customer and supplier personnel as warranted by program needs.• Initiate as required by program deliverables actions to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product design, development or testing procedures. • Participate as required in initial contract evaluations and contribute to the determination of the scope of work for the project.• Assist in the coordination of sub-contracted assemblies or testing services necessary to meet program deliverables.• Work with Formet's quality assurance department to develop quality assurance requirements for customer products and their manufacture in a zero-defect environment.• Assist in the sourcing and procurement of program related services and other requirements as requested/required by management.• Capture best practices/lessons learned during the life of the program and help integrate into improvements of Formet's CPMP process and standards.• On-going support as required/requested to continue to meet customer expectations post start of stabilized production.• Perform other duties as designated.
