Job Summary
Provides subject matter expertise and leadership for business and/or technology programs/projects. Leads all phases of the program lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout, using standard project and program management methodologies and tools. Ensures alignment with business priorities, manages cross-project dependencies and risks, and drives delivery of program outcomes.
Essential Job Duties
• Develops and maintains integrated program plans, including scope, schedule, milestones, deliverables, resource needs, dependencies, and key risks across multiple related projects.
• Leads coordination of multiple project teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support execution of program objectives and delivery of intended business outcomes.
• Monitors program progress and performance; identifies cross-project risks, issues, and interdependencies and leads development and implementation of mitigation strategies.
• Tracks and reports on program-level key performance indicators (KPIs); communicates status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.
• Ensures alignment of related projects with business priorities, program objectives, and established governance standards.
• Facilitates program governance activities, including status reviews, stakeholder meetings, decision forums, and retrospectives, to support delivery and continuous improvement.
• Oversees management of program scope, timelines, dependencies, and change impacts across participating projects.
• Ensures program documentation is maintained in accordance with established standards and practices.
• Builds and maintains effective working relationships with business and technology stakeholders; influences decision-making and supports resolution of complex delivery issues.
• Supports program financial tracking, resource planning, and forecasting activities, as applicable.
• May provide training, mentoring and support to new and existing team members.
Required Qualifications
• At least 6 years of program or project management experience supporting business or technology initiatives, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, statistics, business, health care, engineering, etc.
• Strong knowledge of project and program management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
• Advanced proficiency with tools used for planning, tracking, reporting, and managing interdependencies across projects and programs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills, and ability to evaluate issues across multiple related initiatives.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and translate business goals into coordinated program plans and delivery activities.
• Ability to learn new software with little to no instruction within short timeframes, and instruct others on functionality.
• Ability collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate work across multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders and support decision-making at multiple levels.
• Mastery of standard applications, program/project-specific software, and Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications
• Management/leadership experience.
• Experience managing programs consisting of multiple related projects with significant dependencies and shared outcomes.
• Experience with program-level budget tracking, forecasting, resource planning, and/or vendor coordination.
• Professional certifications or training in project or program management (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)). • Experience managing $5M–$20M program/project work annually.
• Advanced use of burnup charts across programs/projects to track progress.
