The Program Manager, under direction, is responsible for implementing, planting, and executing research trials investigating insect management in field crops.
Responsibilities:
-Plans, organizes, directs and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures with knowledge of pesticide safety, mode of action, and application technology.
-Assists with the development and production of setting up field trials, insect sampling and identification.
-Develops and conduct programs including leadership training, conferences, seminars and workshops
-Operates farm machinery and will be responsible for supervising student workers.
-Assists and manages research field plot records and data.
-Prepares vouchers, purchase orders and requisition and coordinate with accounting personnel and other support staff.
-Other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Five years of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
-Master's degree in applicable field
Required Licenses or certificates:
-Pesticide applicator license will be required upon hire or shortly thereafter.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge of word processing, database management, and presentation development.
-Effective verbal and written communication skills.
-Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills.
-Ability to maintain attention to detail and utilize sound judgment.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
