About the Role

As Korea Program Manager, you will help shape and grow Korea’s clean energy ecosystem by designing and delivering high-impact programs that support startups, upskill energy professionals, and connect key stakeholders across industry, government, and the innovation community.

Reporting to our Global Partnerships Director, you’ll work closely with a global team while leading locally relevant initiatives tailored to Korea’s energy challenges and opportunities. This is a hands-on, fast-moving role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, brings strong program leadership, and wants to create lasting impact in one of the world’s most exciting emerging clean energy markets.

Role & Responsibilities

Program Design & Implementation – Powering Energy Entrepreneurs

  • Lead the launch of a unique climate startup program supporting companies on their international expansion, leveraging New Energy Nexus’ proven tools and global network.
  • Work with a dynamic Korean partner to ensure programs fit the needs of local entrepreneurs and startups, providing real-world solutions for their success.
  • Identify and engage top-tier mentors, industry experts, and investors to support startup growth.
  • Design and execute workshops, bootcamps, and training programs that equip founders with the knowledge, skills, and networks they need to thrive.
  • Develop and execute marketing & communications strategies to attract and showcase Korea’s brightest energy innovators.

Partnerships & Ecosystem Building – Making an Impact at Scale

  • Cultivate relationships with funders, foundations, government agencies, and corporate partners to fuel program growth.
  • Represent New Energy Nexus at industry events, policy discussions, and high-profile meetings to position our work at the forefront of Korea’s clean energy transition.
  • Build and manage a thriving network of energy entrepreneurs, professionals, and partners to drive collaboration and innovation.
  • Stay ahead of the curve, understand emerging trends, policies, and opportunities in Korea’s energy sector.

Energy Skills Training – Building Korea’s Clean Energy Workforce

  • Research renewable energy sector and trainings available in the country.
  • Create a plan to expand our solar professional training platform (newenergyacademy.com) into Korea.
  • Forge partnerships with industry associations and companies to create hands-on, practical training opportunities.
  • Engage with industry leaders, solar associations, and government agencies to align training with market needs.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Deeply passionate about entrepreneurship, sustainability, and the future of energy.
  • Proven program & project management experience, you’ve successfully managed complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of experience in either a startup accelerator, entrepreneur support program, or renewable energy industry.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently while staying connected to a global team across multiple time zones.
  • Professionally fluent in Korean and English, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in the clean energy sector, whether through work experience, education, or a burning personal interest.
  • Experience in startup ecosystems, including incubators, accelerators, investors, and entrepreneur support organizations.
  • Prior entrepreneurship experience is a plus! 
  • Background in management consulting, business strategy, or market development.
  • Highly resourceful and creative, able to design innovative solutions and make things happen even in challenging environments.
  • A multi-tasker with exceptional project management skills
