In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, you'll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions.
BAE Systems is seeking a Program Engineering Manager (PEM) to support the Space Systems product line, in the RFx product area. Known as an industry leader in space electronics, Space Systems products can be found on almost all commercial, civil, and national security space missions. For the RFx product area, Space Systems develops and supports advanced RF payloads including signal collection and analysis, communications, and data processing.
As part of the BAE Systems team, in this role you'll be working on data processing system that involve critical customer missions, supporting the warfighter and the nation. You'll be in front of learning and understanding the system, mission, and customer needs; determining how to execute and realize the solution; solving challenging problems; and leading creative engineers. You'll have the opportunity to work with engineering and program management to deliver high-performance data processing solutions within cost and schedule constraints.

As a PEM, the selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Technical leadership and ownership of a project or group of projects working with the program manager and customer, and leading the entire engineering team
- Monitoring the project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined, maintained, and met
- Providing the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and the program team for staffing needs
- Cost account management, interfacing with the engineering team, program management, and finance
- Defining, generating, and reviewing project requirements and documentation
- Performing or guiding technical studies to refine project requirements
- Ensuring all necessary process items are followed and completed, and all reviews and approvals are received
- Coordinating the program engineering work with other stakeholder groups, including operations, quality, contracts, and finance personnel
Responsible for technical/operational leadership of a project/mission or group of projects/missions within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer. Defines, generates, and reviews project requirements documentation. Performs technical studies to refine project requirements. Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained. Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Math and 12 years' experience
- Current Top Secret / SCI level security clearance and adjudicated Polygraph
- Twelve (12) years of space engineering development experience
- Experience with project planning and execution with a focus on scope control, scheduling, and engineering cost management ($50+ M)
- Experience with space or aeronautic signal identification and data processing, or other relevant systems, from an architecture, integration, test, delivery, and sustainment standpoint
- Understanding of Software Defined Radio architecture and implementation within COTS processing environments
- Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) information security controls
- Understanding of software application execution within Service Oriented Architecture
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Control Account Management (CAM) responsibilities, task codes and program metrics
- Experience leading cross functional/organizational engineering teams (45+ engineering FTEs)
- Experience collaborating with Functional / Section Leads to define and satisfy engineering staffing requirements
- Experience working with Master Planning personnel to baseline and maintain the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Experience composing and providing program technical and management briefings to customer Program Management Office (PMO) and community
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Knowledge of space or ground acquisition types and programs in the DoD, GEOINT, SIGINT or Communications domains
- Understanding of procurement and integration to meet system requirements and deliver product
- Experience executing cost type and fixed price engineering development activity
- Knowledge of space, airborne, or ground acquisition types and programs in the DoD, GEOINT, SIGINT or Communications domains
- Ability to independently plan and execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
- Understanding of engineering processes and procedures across all disciplines
- MS in Science, Engineering, or Math
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
