The Machine is the agentic operating system for marketing, built by Code and Theory. It plugs into the tools marketing teams use and turns disconnected workflows into a single intelligent system, connecting brand strategy, creative production, and media performance. The Machine helps power agencies across Stagwell's network and world-leading brands. We're looking for a Director, Client Delivery to lead delivery across The Machine's implementation portfolio — from the budget and scoping work that supports the sales process, through hands-on leadership of the Implementation team, to client satisfaction once work is underway. You will own this capability end to end, from proposal through onboarding, delivery, and ongoing account health.
You will be responsible for the budget and scoping materials that support new business, the day-to-day operations of the Implementation team, and client satisfaction across active engagements, establishing the standards and processes needed to run a consistent, well-managed delivery practice.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build detailed budget and scoping estimates (Gantt timelines, phase summaries, seat-load estimates, shared vs. net-new build ledgers) for enterprise clients
- Partner directly with Sales and Sales Enablement on proposal development, RFP responses, and implementation planning materials
- Translate sold scope into realistic delivery assumptions before contracts are signed, flagging timeline, staffing, or cost risk in commercial commitments
- Maintain reusable estimation and pricing templates so proposals reflect actual delivery capacity and historical build effort
- Lead delivery for the Machine Implementation team end to end: onboarding new clients, staffing pods, sequencing build phases, and managing the handoff from Sales into Machine Implementation
- Track team operations, to include productivity, blockers, delivery velocity while working to remove obstacles so implementation milestones hit sold timelines
- Manage staffing and resourcing reconciliation for implementation work across org chart and our internal staffing-tool sources
- Serve as the accountable owner for client satisfaction across active implementations, and the primary point of escalation when delivery experience diverges from expectations
- Establish a consistent cadence of client check-ins, health scoring, and satisfaction tracking across the implementation portfolio
- Close the loop between what was scoped/sold and what clients experience during onboarding, feeding lessons back into future proposal and budget templates
- Partner with account and product leadership on renewal risk and expansion opportunities surfaced through delivery health signals
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Significant team leadership experience in a software implementations environment
- Track record building commercial/budget artifacts (Gantt charts, staffing plans, cost estimates) that hold up under delivery conditions
- Experience managing distributed, cross-regional teams and coordinating across time zones
- Direct experience owning client satisfaction outcomes; a proactive, direct communicator who surfaces bad news early
- Capability with AI tooling to enable yourself and your team to work more efficiently without generating workslop
- Working fluency with delivery/ops tooling (e.g., spreadsheets, Airtable, Workfront/Maconomy or equivalent PSA tools, Jira) and comfort reconciling data across multiple systems of record
- Prior experience supporting a sales or proposal process directly (RFPs, SOWs, scoping)
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in an agency or consulting environment supporting multiple client implementations in parallel
- Experience with AI-enabled products and the staffing/build considerations specific to them
- Hands-on experience with recruiting and org-planning tools such as Figma FigJam and Airtable

Code and Theory Insights
What We Do
Code and Theory is a strategically driven, digital-first creative agency that lives at the intersection of creativity and technology. We solve consumer and business problems across the entire customer journey that flex to meet the ever-changing needs of consumer expectations. We put the user, their behaviors and needs, at the center of everything we do — from our proprietary research methodologies, to product development processes, to how we create brand, channel and messaging strategies. Our goal is simple: to solve our clients business problems. We bring big ideas to life by looking holistically at brand ecosystems where digital plays a prominent role in driving the consumer from first-touch through to conversion to relationship deepening over time. We identify gaps in the consumer journey and opportunities in culture that require products, services or communications to fill. We work across categories, ranging as far and wide as health care (Pfizer, Sanofi, Reach MD, Bioreference Laboratories) to financial services (JP Morgan Chase, Prudential, Morgan Stanley, First Data) to cpg (Mars, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson) to technology companies (Facebook, Xerox, Samsung, Comcast) to culture brands (adidas, H&M). And because our DNA is in publishing — we’ve embedded in over 135 newsrooms in the past decade — we bring unique expertise in understanding how content is created, distributed and optimized, including our work with CNN, NBC News, NBC Sports, and Bustle Digital Group. At Code and Theory, we strive to only be limited by our own ambition and creativity. We believe in pushing our creativity beyond the easy and obvious answers in order to deliver the solutions that are right for our clients, their businesses, and their consumers.
