About High Tech High 
 
Developed by a coalition of San Diego civic leaders and educators, High Tech High (“HTH”) opened in September 2000 as a small public project-based charter school with plans to serve approximately 450students. HTH has evolved into an integrated network of sixteen charter schools serving approximately 6,500 students in grades K-12 across four San Diego County campuses (Point Loma, Clairemont, North County, and Chula Vista). The HTH organization also includes a comprehensive adult learning environment including a Teacher Credentialing Program and the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, offering professional development opportunities serving national and international educators. 
 
This position is in-person and on-campus.
 
JOB FUNCTION/ DESCRIPTION
Plan, organize, and manage all facets of the organization’s robotics programs; provide administrative oversight and technical expertise for robotics programs and projects.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, organize, and manage innovative robotics program activities for students
  • Provide administrative oversight of the robotics programs and services
  • Provide technical expertise, information, and assistance to Directors regarding assigned functions; assist in the formulation and development of robotics programs
  • Communicate with Directors, staff members, Executive Leadership, families, students, and outside organizations to coordinate robotics activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts, and exchange information
  • Act as a resource to staff, families, and the community
  • Identify and support the development of partnerships, including FIRST Robotics, to improve the robotics programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Content and theory of action that drives development of skills for student participants in the program
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Principles and practices of administration, supervision, and training
  • Understanding of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction in assigned functions
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable provisions of federal, state, and district laws, rules, and regulations
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
  • Prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports
  • Interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in math, science, or engineering and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in teaching, educational administration, and/or instructional programs with an emphasis in implementing innovations in science and math education

  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
  • Valid California driver’s license
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Environment: Indoor, office setting; driving a vehicle to perform work with students
  • Indoor/Outdoor settings
  • Physical Abilities:
    • Hearing and speaking to exchange information
    • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
    •  Kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies
    • Lifting light objects
