Role Purpose:

The Program Coordinator – Industry Engagement will support industry engagement and career transition activities across ITIs and vocational training institutes in Kerala.


The role will work closely with institutes, employers, industry associations, government stakeholders and Quest Alliance teams to help young people move successfully from education and training into employment, apprenticeships, self-employment and other livelihood opportunities. This is an execution and coordination-focused role, requiring strong relationship-building, field coordination and follow-through. 


Key Responsibilities:

1. Industry & Employer Engagement
  • Identify employers, industry associations, sector networks and other potential partners across Kerala.

  • Build and maintain working relationships with employers for recruitment, apprenticeships, workplace exposure and career interactions.

  • Understand employer requirements, hiring trends and entry-level opportunities relevant to ITI and vocational learners.

  • Coordinate employer meetings, industry visits, job fairs, recruitment drives and other engagement activities.

  • Maintain updated information on employer contacts, opportunities and engagement status.

2. Institute & Career Transition Support 
  • Work with ITIs and vocational institutes to plan and implement career transition activities.

  • Support Placement Officers, trainers and institute teams in employer outreach and placement coordination.

  • Facilitate career exposure, employer interactions, apprenticeship opportunities and transition-related activities for learners.

  • Support institutes in maintaining placement records, employer databases and alumni information.

  • Encourage institute teams to progressively manage employer engagement and placement activities independently.

3. Labour Market & Stakeholder Coordination 
  • Gather information on local industries, employment trends, emerging sectors and livelihood opportunities.

  • Build connections with industry bodies, government departments, skill ecosystem partners and relevant local networks.

  • Share labour-market information and employer feedback with program and institute teams.

  • Support stakeholder meetings, consultations and ecosystem events as required.

  • Identify opportunities that can strengthen employment and apprenticeship pathways for learners.

4. Program Coordination, Tracking & Reporting
  • Coordinate activity plans and follow up with institutes, employers and internal teams to ensure timely implementation.

  • Track employer engagements, learner participation, placement opportunities and transition outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate program records and update monitoring systems regularly.

  • Document field insights, employer feedback, learner stories and emerging good practices.

  • Contribute to periodic program reviews, reports and team planning discussions.


Required Experiences & Skills:

  • Industry Engagement: Ability to approach employers, build relationships and follow through on opportunities.

  • Local Labour Market Understanding: Awareness of major industries, employment opportunities and workforce trends in Kerala.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Ability to work effectively with institutes, employers, government stakeholders and partner organizations.

  • Execution & Follow-through: Strong coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and timelines.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Malayalam and English.

  • Documentation & Data: Comfortable maintaining trackers, preparing basic reports and working with digital tools.



Salary:

The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 60,000 /- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
