Honeywell Technologies is hiring a Program Controls Director within their Building Automation (BA) organization. This person will manage a GBE (Global Business Enterprise) team responsible for effective Project Controls Management to achieve business results for Honeywell. This role is responsible for driving strong project controls to ensure that the GBE delivers on its financial commitments.  Also, this leader is responsible for providing transparency to risk and driving mitigation actions. The Program Control Director will support talent initiatives within their GBE such as recruiting, development, and engagement. 

This role will sit in our Honeywell Hub location in Atlanta, GA and operate on a hybrid work schedule, plus 30% travel (domestic & international).

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the GBE PCO function - projects vary in size/complexity and may include large mega projects
  • Establish the function by setting a high bar for talent and processes
  • Drive talent strategy, including initiatives around recruitment, development, and engagement
  • Accountable to GBE VPGM Operations and CFO for providing transparency and risk mitigation on project portfolio
  • Ensure world-class processes are deployed to manage project costs, budget, and schedule
  • Drive change orders and margin rate on change orders
  • Establish early warning & Business Risk Mitigation Framework across all the projects businesses
  • Responsible for implementation of the standard Project Controls tool sets and work processes on all projects
  • Assess, Audit and Approve all Risks and Opportunities
  • Drive controls discipline and maturity via Project Solutions Accelerator and Playbook
  • Visit customer sites and plants for independent audits related to Milestones, Milestone dependencies, Supplier / Subcontractor performance and adherence to contractual terms and plans
  • Ensure Risk and Opportunities Net and Cross financial impacts
  • Ensure SOX Compliance
  • Deploy PCO Incentive Plan to drive performance and behavioral changes
  • Direct interactions with various customers
Qualifications

You Must Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in project controls & project management 
  • Extensive people leadership/management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related degree
  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or Accounting 
  • Global operational & management experience 
  • Knowledge of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Planning (STRAP) process
  • Strong Leadership, Communication, Negotiation and Organizational skills
  • Extensive influence and motivation at varying levels across the organization
  • Problem Solving and Decision-Making Abilities
  • Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience 
  • User experience of ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Microsiga)
  • Understanding of Finance (concepts and work processes), Cost risk analysis and contingency management, Cash flow (planned, actual, forecast)
  • PMP Certification
  • Leadership experience preferably in an international, multi-site and multicultural business environment
  • Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources and able to provide optimal solutions to problems
  • Courage – ability to provide transparency to project risks and partner with SBUs to drive resolution
  • Ability to convey a strong sense of urgency and drive resolution of issues to closure
  • Experience in oil & gas, sustainability, and capital projects
  • Knowledge of SAP Projects Module, Primavera Project Planner
  • PMIS (Project Management Information System) experience (i.e., Cora or EcoSys)
  • Change management systems (implement, maintain)
  • Project Controls Analysis (data, indices, variances, trends, projects), Planning and Integrated Scheduling (concepts and work processes)
  • Contract and subcontract administration (concepts and work processes)
