The Boeing Company is seeking a Space Launch System (SLS) Production Test Engineer Manager in New Orleans, LA to join the Boeing Test and Evaluation team at our Michoud Assembly Facility production facility.
This position will work closely with Production Operations and SLS Engineering leadership to lead a highly skilled team of test engineers that perform acceptance testing of avionics and propulsion systems on the SLS Core Stage and Exploration Upper Stage. This may also include the design, development, acquisition, and management of Special Test Equipment. The selected candidate must have a strong sense of responsibility for the success of the program and be able to motivate a group of diverse individuals to achieve a common objective with shared values and processes while leading multi-skilled test teams that validate NASA's SLS Rocket Core Stage and Exploration Upper Stage.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Test and Evaluation Engineering
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, and provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a leader or a manager)
  • 1+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Participated in every phase of a product lifecycle (e.g. requirements definition, systems design, systems development, systems integration, systems test and systems support)
  • 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, or foreign equivalent
  • Experience in project management including interfacing with suppliers, partnerships, and/or customers
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework enterprise (SAFe) or Agile in general
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • 2 or more project management certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, Agile Professional, Prince2, or RUP
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD process and code delivery pipeline, using tools like GitLab & Jenkins

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $141,100 - $190,900
