Description

ICC is looking for a hands-on Production Technician / CAD Drafter who thrives in a dynamic role blending hands-on production work with CAD drafting — one day calibrating hardware at a customer site, the next shaping a design update at a CAD workstation. Based in Largo, FL, this role combines real, tangible production work (assembly, installation, calibration, and field service) with drafting and design support, so you'll build things, fix things, and help design them too.

You'll spend roughly 80% of your time on production and field service, and 20% updating designs and technical plans in Solidworks and AutoCAD. If you're technically curious, good with your hands, comfortable with CAD software, and want a role with real variety, we'd love to hear from you.

Who we are:

Based in Largo, FL, International Cybernetics Company (ICC) has designed and manufactured devices to collect road surface data since its founding in 1975. In May of 2022, ICC acquired Infrastructure Management Services (IMS), which is now fully integrated as the services division of ICC. Together, ICC and IMS boast almost five decades of experience in pavement engineering and analysis, software development, automated data collection equipment manufacturing, and ROW mapping.

We enable data-driven decisions about pavement, sidewalk, and right-of-way (ROW) assets that empower agencies to get the most out of their budgets and deliver meaningful safety, maintenance, and rehabilitation results to their constituents.

Through our Core Values, Client-First Partnership, Innovate for Impact, Empower Each Other, Act with Integrity & Accountability, Continuously Improve, and Challenge the Status Quo, ICC emphasizes integrity, accountability, and teamwork in the workplace with a vibrant culture that empowers employees to be the best they can be.

The company has a bright future in the new age of road data collection technology and is looking for team members who wish to be part of that vision.

• Assemble cables, electronic assemblies, and related hardware to a high standard of quality.

• Configure, install, calibrate, validate, and troubleshoot ICC's hardware product line.

• Support system deployments, upgrades, and repairs — both in-house and out in the field.

• Deliver hands-on client training, on-site and remotely, for your assigned product line.

• Read, interpret, and apply electrical and mechanical schematics.

• Spot gaps or issues in documentation and escalate through the right channels.

• Manage your own workload and keep projects moving without needing to be micromanaged.

Drafting (˜ 20%)

• Develop and update Bills of Material (BOM), calculating dimensions and material needs.

• Create detailed designs using CAD software.

• Prepare and review rough sketches with production and development teams.

• Write clear work instructions and document production procedures.

This is an in-office, hands-on role based in Largo, FL, with travel (up to 25%) to customer sites. Expect time on the production floor as well as in the field — including standing, kneeling, climbing, working in confined or elevated spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs. You'll wear PPE where required and work around moderate noise, tools, and fabrication equipment

What you'll bring:

• Technical certificate, trade school training, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.

• Entry-level to early-career experience in electronics assembly, mechanical assembly, field service, or a related technical role.

• Hands-on experience with 2D and 3D CAD software — Solidworks and AutoCAD.

• Background as an engineer, estimator, drafter, or in a similar role.

• Solid technical and mechanical aptitude, plus a genuine willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

• A self-starter mindset — you notice what needs to be done and do it.

• Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

• A problem-solver who knows when to dig in and when to ask for help.
