Job Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:
1. Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
2. Follows and supports Kamtek Castings and Magna's operating principles, including:
a. Magna Employee Charter - Operating under its principles by treating all employees equally, fairly, and with dignity and respect without favoritism.
b. Open Door Policy - Facilitates the process without fear of reprisal. Solves issues by encouraging two-way, open, and friendly communication.
c. C48 - Listens to issues and concerns and responds within 48 hours
d. 5S - Maintains and promotes good housekeeping by following the philosophy "Everything has a place. Everything in its place".
e. Safety First - Leads by example and enforces all of the plant's safety rules and procedures by wearing PPE at all times and immediately addressing all safety concerns. Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.
f. Company quality and environmental policies.
g. Core values - Treat all employees equally, fairly, with dignity and respect, without favoritism in accordance with company values.
3. Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.
4. Follows the escalation process when equipment is down.
5. Perform minor correction to equipment. Contact the area leader or proper support personnel to report machine or tooling problems.
6. Recommends proposals for improving products, processes, systems, and work environment through the continuous Improvement process and encourages employees to participate in the process as well.
7. Respond to all Andon's per zone and coordinate the correct support group. 8. 8. Ensure daily Pre-Shift inspections and frequency checks are completed accurately and conduct planned inspection audits on each shift.
9. Conduct Pre-Shift meetings with the team to communicate safety and/or quality issues production targets and pass down.
10. Complete all necessary documentation including hourly data collection with downtime reasons and ensure distribution of EOS (End of Shift) report through email at end of your daily shift.
11. Fills in for Team Members that need to temporarily leave the line (emergency, bathroom/lunch break, etc.) and to cover for planned/unplanned absenteeism and/or to facilitate improved production start-ups.
12. Ensure that all operation documentation is up to date and in correct location.
13. Routinely make visual inspections of emergency evacuation routes correcting any safety concerns immediately.
14. Conduct daily safety talks in pre-shift meetings and ensure employees sign safety training roster.
15. Assign daily work assignments for die casting employees on a daily basis - monitor throughout day and make adjustments to support operations.
16. Maintain open communication and provide continued support to other departments regarding any changes, problems, or special projects. Encourages open communications; confronts difficult situations; maintains objectivity; keeps emotions under control; uses negotiation skills to resolve conflicts.
17. Provide feedback and recommendations to the supervisor regarding employee performance and training needs.
18. Achieve first time quality and efficiency to meet production requirements. Ensure QIF is followed.
19. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting. ( Safety checklist, LPA, Circle of skills, production report, Quality Alerts, Leader Standard Work (LSW), HxH production report).
20. Immediately attend to all accidents and injuries. Assist the supervisor with the completion of the accident and injury investigation program (within 24 hours), while following up to ensure procedure implementation and completion. 21. Support company and customer quality systems, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing process and creativity/innovation. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
22. Follow and comply with all operational procedures and policies and ensure team is also following and complying with all policies/procedures, including the Kamtek handbook.
23. Initiate and address corrective actions immediately as required (example: unsafe conditions, unsafe work practices, failing to follow process, failing to follow rules/policies as outlined in handbook).
24. Ensure that all checking tools are in good working order and are calibrated. 25. Support Kamtek Leadership to ensure consistent communication of the Magna/Kamtek vision. Fosters team cooperation; takes personal ownership of communications; supports group problem solving; ensures progress toward goals; acknowledges team accomplishments.
26. Monitor and maintain good housekeeping following 5S standards and participate in 5S walks with leadership.
27. Support the continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Productivity.
28. Develop and facilitate on-the-job employee training -encourages training and development. (Circle of Skills) Provides performance coaching to team - motivates for increased results; recognizes contributions. Help coordinate engineering changes. (example: rainbow tags, clean points, break points, FIFO, etc.) Promotes good housekeeping (5S) Perform other duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
SKILL (Ability to do the job)
- Willingness to work extended or flexible hours as required to meet production demands
- Must possess interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Must have good working knowledge and understanding of the casting process
- Must have strong team-focused and leadership abilities
- Ability to work in stressful situations
- Must be willing to work in various locations within and outside the facility

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Some of the physical demands of this position include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time, and occasional bending or stooping.
EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED
Some of the equipment and tools used are a computer, 2-way radio, files, hammers, DA, punch, hand drill, forklift, copier/printer, and personal protective equipment.
KNOWLEDGE
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required
TECHNICAL TRAINING: Casting experience preferred
OTHER: Experience with basic Microsoft Word and Excel, Microsoft Office
WORK EXPERIENCE
WHAT TYPES? Manufacturing experience preferred in a leadership role
HOW MUCH? Minimum of 2 years
