Production Support Java Developer , Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)
About the Role
SunSoft Online is seeking a Production Support Java Developer for a contract-to-hire opportunity with an Arizona state agency. You'll join a dedicated Production Support Team focused on system uptime, diagnosing complex production issues, and deploying critical patches and enhancements across critical ongoing systems. You'll work as a full-stack generalist across the application stack, automated testing, UI/controller logic, and back-end services and database operations, on a team of 4-7 technical peers.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years in Information Technology
- Minimum 3 years developing Java web applications or web services
- Expert hands-on knowledge: Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security, Oracle databases, JSP, Apache Tomcat, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Git/GitHub, Maven
Preferred / Plus
- Spring Batch, Spring Integration, Oracle PL/SQL, MyBatis, FileNet
- BDD/TDD, Cucumber, Selenium, Jasper Reports
- Atlassian Jira/Confluence
- Agile Scrum, secure development practices, CI/CD
Education
- Bachelor's degree highly desired (Software Development or IT preferred)
Additional Details
- Contract-to-hire: eligible for full-time state conversion after 6 months
- Must be local to Phoenix (current location on resume), 100% onsite
- Must be eligible to convert to FTE; no visa sponsorship (now or in future)
- Available for an in-person interview within one week
- Able to start within two weeks of an offer
