This posting is intended to fill three (3) Production Supervisor roles supporting buildings T100, T29, and T27.
Supervision – Production will ensure that the products and services provided by production meet all
customer requirements with regards to quality, timeliness, and cost. The Supervisor is accountable
to ensure that all operations, methods, procedures, etc. are performed safely with respect to
people, products, the environment, and equipment. In order to achieve this result, the Supervisor
must be able to cooperate with customers and business partners both within their department,
across the site, and externally.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for ensuring 24 x 7 production support, 365 days a year
• Continuously improve performance of direct reports by
administering the Performance Management process,
coaching, and providing feedback.
• Build/create the safety culture in the department, plant site and Evonik
• Establish expectations of direct reports and ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
• Ensure direct reports are adequately trained to perform their
duties.
• Work towards building a cohesive team that is flexible and
able to work cooperatively.
• Assist personnel in the development of technical,
interpersonal, and transferable skills.
• Coach personnel by focusing on their strengths and suggesting
ways for growth and improvement.
• Drive and empower decision making to the lowest level in the
organization.
•Effectively communicate direction, objectives, and results as needed to the department, Tippe plant site and Evonik.
• Assign resources to ensure adequate coverage for time off such as illnesses, vacation and medical leaves.
REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma and a two-year technical degree or five years of leadership
experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum 15 years business/industrial experience preferred
• Previous supervisory experience
• Strong decision-making skills
• Proven leadership skills with emphasis in coaching/mentoring for performance
improvement.
• Ability to manage a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the business.
• Organizational skills including planning and prioritization of assignments.
• Proven ability to contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
• Proven ability to lead a group of people towards a set of common objectives.
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Demonstrated effective conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge and / or experience with GMPs.
• Must be computer literate and be proficient in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and
DeltaV (or other similar automation system).
• Ability to focus on continuous improvement and results oriented initiatives.
• Ability to leverage experience, training, and information to accomplish goals.
• Accurate and proficient analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a heavily regulated environment.
• Self-directed, self-managed, reliable, and capable of success with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate and provide good customer service to internal and external
organizations.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to travel by foot between buildings and areas of responsibility.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to work in a high noise environment.
• Must be able to spend time outside, at times in inclement weather.
