Manufacturing Group
Oversees manufacturing and/or production operations, including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging. Sets production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources and volume required to meet demand and ensure maximum production quantity and quality. Supports, trains and builds the manufacturing line organization to maintain and enhance operations.
Manufacturing Operations
Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs to meet market demand. Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature. Follows established procedures for operating manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials. Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing. Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations.
The supervisor has the most pivotal role in the organization. They are to serve as the bridge between the management team and the production staff. The supervisor is responsible for all activities and production that occur during their shift – to include: Employee Safety, Product Quality, Line Operation, Shift Staffing, Shift Discipline, Gathering Metrics and ensuring performance to set metrics. It is the responsibility of the shift supervisor to ensure that the production manager is made aware of any and all production / personnel issues that have / are occurring. This role is crucial for maintaining efficiency and productivity within a manufacturing setting, ensuring that products are produced at a high standard and workflows are optimized.
Essential Job Functions
- All safety regulations must be observed
- Ensure that established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ISO regulations and safety standards are strictly followed.
- Responsible for accurate and complete production records
- Ensure that the appropriate raw materials are being utilized on all lines
- Responsible for the general cleanliness and organization of the plant floor
- Responsible for providing direction for all production personnel
- Responsible for insuring products are made to quality standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that their teams keep areas clean / organized / no product or raw materials are on the floor / all resin containers are labeled and covered at all times.
- Responsible for the training of all employees on equipment, processes and documentation of these trainings.
- Responsible to provide support to all personnel in maintaining all extrusion lines in operations.
- Ensure that unused equipment is stored in the proper location.
- Provide daily / weekly / monthly shift performance metrics data
- Act as the point of contact for all IT related issues
- Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the ink room
